My favourite place to take visiting friends and family in Canterbury. No need to pre-book. The cheese scones are super delicious, I keep going back just for them. I've tried different teas, they never disappoint. Nuts allergy friendly.

Was visiting with a friend and hopped in for some afternoon tea, the staff were so helpful with advising us about portion sizes and I can say- they were right! One serving of afternoon tea was more than enough between the two of us. The Raspberry Apple scone was delicious and so large we almost couldn’t finish it, and the finger sandwiches were so fresh with classic fillings! We got the Tiny Tim’s House-blend for our tea and loved it. Overall, Cosy Interiors, great food and excellent service:))

Lovely place for a classic scone. Their house scone (with blueberry and lime) is delicious (don’t forget the extra clotted cream!). Also nice selection of hot chocolates with fantasy. Beautiful setting.

Quirky Super place, first time customer and we're be returning next time we are in Canters. Staff were excellent, friendly, professional and the service received was top notch. Teas were really nice, certainly different and there was plenty for two cups. Scones were of a good standard although one totally fell into pieces. Jam and butter were superb. £35 for 2 x teas, 1 x coffee & 3 x scones. Expensive, maybe, but was quality 👍

The Goods Shed

Station Rd W, Canterbury CT2 8AN, UK | Restaurant
P: 01227 459153

Rating: 4.6 (1626) Price Level:

Lovely place to dine or shop from local businesses - all in close proximity to the train station. We seemed to have visited on a particularly busy day, as they only had one table available for walk-ins (us). The kitchen seemed a bit overwhelmed as our food took forever to arrive, and we ended up dining there for 2.5 hours. Something to keep in mind if you're on a tight schedule. The food was great! We really enjoyed the confit pork belly, and we thought the mint butter paired really well with the pink fir potatoes. Didn't realise the 'roast chicken' was a salad when we ordered, but it was still pretty good.

Amazing restaurant and beautiful local produce market! The food at the restaurant was really fancy and absolutely delicious! Every meal was a real experience! They use local and seasonal ingredients sourced directly from the market. We ordered a 3-course meal which was definitely pricey but perfect for a celebration or special occasion. The staff a very attentive and very well organised. Booking a table is best as it gets very busy. The market is also very charming with fresh local veg, fish, meat, juice, cheese and other wonderful finds. Highly recommend and can't wait to be back!

I was amazed that my two brown mis-shapen teeth at the front could be improved so easily and efficiently by composite bonding. I had not heard of the process until recently, but Dr Arjuna transformed my front teeth within an hour! I totally recommend his service. Also his prices are cheaper than others I have researched.

I am a very nervous patient due to bad experiences in the past but I felt no anxiety today at my appointment. I felt in safe hands and the dentist was really gentle as I have sensitive gums. He also offered a full explanation of what I needed and was honest about what I could achieve. I would also like to mention Faye on reception who was very friendly and extremely helpful with liaising about appointments. I nearly cancelled this morning as my anxiety was awful but this was unfounded. It was a fabulous experience x

Modern and clean premises. Overall great experience! Thank you!

Been here a few times on my travels to Canterbury and it is always delicious and delightful. The menu is full of lots of different options and a very reasonable priced set menu is also avaliable. A handy location for the theatre and has lots of seating inside and a few outside for alfresco dinning. Staff very welcoming and friendly, will be going again!

Great Little restaurant right around the corner from the theatre and the cathedral. We popped in for dinner and had the duck breast and wild mushroom risotto. Both were perfectly prepared and the presentation was top notch as well. The kids had burgers and even those weren't small little burgers - proper portions. The host was very friendly and accommodated us even though we didn't have a reservation. Good service overall. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the Marlowe's. The prices was also very reasonable given the portions and quality of the food. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in Canterbury again.

The White Horse Inn

The Square, Chilham, Canterbury CT4 8BY, UK | Pub
P: 01227 730355

Rating: 4.5 (544) Price Level:

The best pub I've ever been to and I am not ashamed to admit that I have been to quite a few:) There is always a risk when visiting a "local" pub in the small village that you feel out of place. Was totally opposite. On the first visit felt like I've been coming there for decades. Ticked all of the boxes of what a geat pub should be. History and most amazing setting, cozy, great selection of drinks and food, friendly and attentive staff. Not tried the food, but couple we met at the B&B mentioned that was reasonably priced and very tasty.

After a long journey to Dover castle and Canterbury we had a relaxing and enjoyable dinner at White Horse Chilham. The atmosphere is very cosy and quirky, the fire place is so nice, Colt the mighty dog just added to whole cosines. We had delicious calamari starter and Fish and chips. Paul and Jess were friendly and very welcoming.

I absolutely loved this pub. We arrived in the village after a 4 hour hike wanting a cosy place to rest and recuperate and boy did this place deliver. Just big enough that there are various nooks to relax in but small enough to have instant atmosphere when you walk in. A giant log fireplace in the back dining room is really special and all the staff are super friendly and keen to help. We had the Fish and Chips which were excellent with really substantial portions. I'm so glad we picked this pub.

Quirky local pub off a picturesque town square. The place is full of books and odd little decorations, in a good way (it's a great if only a little random book selection). The staff was super friendly and service was quick, given how busy it was. The food was nice too and very filling. Price was reasonable - we paid £35 each for main, dessert and a couple of drinks. There are two friendly pub dogs who roam around. Customers were nice too - one of them even got the whole pub to sing my boyfriend happy birthday.

We stayed up the road from this lovely, old and quirky village pub. The food was amazing and the service excellent. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome and didnt feel out of place there with the locals. The lady behind the bar in particular was so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. We would highly recommend this pub either for a drink or to eat if you are staying in the area.

The staff there were really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended. What an amazing gem this place is! Found it based on recommendations and so glad I got to try it on my visit to Canterbury. I got the veggie breakfast which has got to be up there with one of the best I’ve had. Special mention to the falafel balls and hummus. The ingredients were high quality and fresh and a lot of care and attention had gone into the breakfast. The coffee was lovely and it’s a great space with upstairs seating also available and if you’re lucky to get a window seat you can overlook the town.

Nice restaurant. It is at the same place as Kitch that offer normal brunch. You just need to ask for the Hungarian menu. We ordered one beef stew with nokedli and chicken paprika with rice. This restaurant is great with lovely Tapas and a very cosy feel. Really enjoyed the octopus, the chorizo and fab padron peppers. Took 1 star off as when it's busy, it's a bit tight for space. Our table on 15th November was right next to the bar area where everyone waits for their table. Try the food though!

I’ve always had excellent dental care from the Smile Centre and rang on Monday needing an appointment as soon as possible. I was given one with Atul Shankar the following day. I use The Smile Centre for the dentist, for dental hygiene appointments. I cannot express how good Lindsey Peddle is at her job - I'm a bit of a nervous patient (through no fault of hers) and she is reassuring, kind and explains everything in such an easy to understand manner. I go in nervous, but come out so happy with the result and the exemplary service I get. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to keep their teeth clean and sparkling, she is simply great!

I am not a fan of going to the dentist (once in 10 years maybe..) but I love the smile centre! I started going here since I got dental insurance with my employer. It's not the closest option to me but the reviews and feedback were that good I wanted to try. My dentist is Ruth and she is amazing! Really calming and chatty throughout the process so I know what is happening and explaining the reasons why. She is super friendly and provides balanced and honest opinions when it comes to treatment choices. I highly recommend the smile centre 👏

Aisling is very knowledgeable, thorough and her approach is calm and reassuring. She immediately put me at ease and before I knew it, she was done and my tooth has been very comfortable since. I highly recommend her. Thank you Aisling and thank you to her nurse as well. S
