We took my sister in law there and only had the one course. The girls had the veggie lasagna and I had the Stilton and bacon burger. The cheese was oozing out all over the place and the whole thing weighed a ton. I really enjoyed it, but couldn't eat anything afterwards, it was so filling. Next time we're up that way, we'll definitely be calling in.

Considering the price I was quoted I expected a basic motel sort of place. Only after a bed for the night so I was fine with that. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Single room was small but well appointed. Bar and dining room huge clean and well staffed. Food absolutely wonderful and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return if I'm in the area. Thoroughly recommended

Budget b&b. We stayed for 4 nights, good location and great staff! The breakfast team was excellent. Charley, Jane, Catina, and Colleen are fantastic ladies. The breakfast was tasty, but the rooms let it down. It wouldn't take much to improve our room, the bathroom door didn't close,( needs sanding at the bottom) the toilet roll holder was missing so had a bracket on the wall ( we put the loo roll on the bin!) There were holes in the wall needing filling, the light shade needs replacing, and maybe a fresh paint job in the actual room! It's a shame really as these little jobs shouldn't take too long but would really improve the feel of the room. All that being said the staff really made our stay enjoyable and if your not bothered about the finer details then a great place to stay.

Had a fantastic Sunday carvery with them. Best one in the area, hot, tasty and plenty of choice of food,. Really pleasant service, very friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone. Well done Anchor, I will return!
