This place was absolutely lovely, delicious authentic tasting Portuguese food and wonderful service! We went here on a whim on a walk in Upnor and it really is a hidden gem. The atmosphere was lively but cosy. We got free shots before AND after our meal! The House Special is a really good deal because not only do you get one of the massive skewers, you also get olives and starters, 3 sides and a dessert! We had the lamb and the tofu veg skewers and we were absolutely stuffed after everything at the end. It was all deliciously grilled as well. The flaming chorizo was wonderful and fun. The molotof whipped egg dessert was fluffy and delightful. We chatted to the waiter Antonio after and he was so friendly, mature and polite and told us all about the restaurant. We will definitely be coming here again and bringing our friends, it was amazing value for money and the food was absolutely stunning!

Absolutely fantastic food! Generous portion sizes, good quality ingredients and delicious flavours. Food was clearly cooked fresh to order. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Cosy atmosphere which was just what we wanted. Very reasonably priced too - what's not to like? Our new favourite place to eat ❤️

Atmosphere was nice, had just opened so not busy and had music playing. Service was great once we were in. Now the food. Mrs MC said they were the best sausages she's ever had. I had the vegetable pie, half expecting one of those store bought in foil pies. It was absolutely amazing. Honestly couldn't fault it, properly homemade and delicious. The veg mix was great, gravy great, mash buttery. Loved it

Was looking for a gastropub and this place was suggested on Google, and it didn’t disappoint. A quaint and local pub for a lovely lunch with mum. All fresh food, cooked very very well, and decent sized portions. We had the pate to start, sea bass with salsa verde for main and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert. The pudding was so soft and fresh. There were good veggie and vegan options available too. Free parking literally opposite the pub.

Absolutely brilliant, I had the big one burger. It was beautiful. All the burgers were well seasoned and super tasty. All food came out hot and tasting exactly as I imagined. Brilliant service. Would definitely recommend if you want a family friendly restaurant with good food. I didn't get any pics, as soon as it came out it looked so good, I just tucked straight in.

I went to The Quills for the first time with my colleagues for a Christmas lunch. It’s a nice, clean restaurant. The staff were friendly, and the service was very professional. I had steak with potato fries and vegetables. There could have been fewer fries and more vegetables, but overall, we had a lovely time. 🙋🏼‍♀️🍀🎄

Amazing coffee shop and great for a light lunch. Two staff gave excellent customer service. We had goats cheese and caramalised union toasty, ham off the bone and cheese sandwhich and salmon and cream cheese special sandwhich. Washed down with 3 glasses of fizz. Very reasonably priced at about £10 per head. Very highly recommended and will be sure to visit next time in Rochester. Value for money. Probably best cafe in the town.

Have visited here on a couple of occasions and there’s a cosy yet vibing atmosphere. The Caramel lattes are so lovely and go down well with a cheeky Chocolate muffin. The service is really great from all staff. Being a wheelchair user wasn’t a problem for us unless it gets really busy which it does at usual peak times. Well worth a visit and the staff sure make you feel welcome.

We’ve been coming here for months & it is a firm favourite in our household, the coffee is always delicious and the staff are friendly. It’s usually busy, but if you can score a table outside it’s great for people watching & dog spotting in the sunshine! Would recommend a visit for sure.

The coffee, service, cakes and atmosphere are great at this independent coffee shop. The ready-made snacks are variable, but don't let that put you off, it's a coffee shop! Also, there's no WiFi, and mobile signal is weak inside, so if you want to have a conversation, this is the place!

The Red Dog Pub is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone who enjoys exceptional food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff and a cosy, rustic setting that makes you feel right at home. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Steak and Ale Pie—hands down the best I’ve ever tasted! The pastry was perfectly golden and flaky, and the filling was packed with tender, flavourful beef in a rich, hearty ale gravy. Every bite was a delight, and it’s clear that real care and top-quality ingredients go into their food. The rest of the menu looked equally enticing, with plenty of classic pub favourites and some interesting twists for more adventurous diners. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. Whether you’re popping in for a pint, a meal, or a full evening out, The Red Dog Pub delivers on all fronts. I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone in search of great food and a welcoming atmosphere. Well done to the team at The Red Dog! Keep up the fantastic work.

Friendly, excellent food and 1st class service. All the staff were incredible , the young lady who was serving us was welcome, bubbly and friendly she made us feel like we were home and we just popped out to our local pub ! We were staying nearby and doing this place online, we are SO happy we found this little gem and if we lived closer we would most definitely be visiting frequently what a pleasant place and experience we had! You can really tell the food was homemade and not just heated up, perfect portion size and nothing was too much for the staff. Can’t express enough how pleasant our expense was. Please pass on our comments to your waitress she was absolutely incredible and really made our whole experience of the pub that much better was also lovely to meet the chef who was also excellent and seemed pleased to hear we enjoyed the food (and the plates were wiped clean) ;) Thank you again!

A gem in the Rochester countryside! Homely traditional pub, dog and baby friendly! Open fire! Fantastic Sunday Roast and vegetarian options! We had starter, mains and desserts and were given a lovely corner booth that our newborn fell asleep in because we were so cozy! All of the food was absolutely incredible with lovely big portions. One of the best places we ate at on our trip that way! Will definitely be going again to try more of their menu on our next visit down!

We (family of 5 including 15 yr old, parents and grandparents) booked a last minute table . From the phone call to book in we found the staff very welcoming and friendly. When we got to the pub we were welcomed warmly and invited to a table that was made ready for our arrival. Cannot fault the service of any of the team. The food including the home made chips was to die for! We had combinations of chicken burgers, Red dog burgers, and ham egg and chips. I Wasn’t going to order dessert but father in law did so we all did and wow the honey comb cheesecake was beautiful! As was the cherry crumble! (We were lucky to get the last one!!) We will definitely be back again to this little treasure of a pub/restaurant! Thank you so much!

Tiny Tim's Of Rochester

Rating: 4.2 (208) Price Level:

I visited with my family and the first thing we noticed was the lovely ambiance of the restaurant, great choice of music playing. The staff were so attentive and excellent with the children. I started with one of the best Americano coffees I’ve had, followed by the incredible Big Tel’s breakfast - you have to try it! Excellent choice on the kids menu and we finished off our meal with the delicious fresh cakes. Well done to the team at Tiny Tim’s - 5 stars!

Went here for afternoon tea. Prices around $25/person You get a choice of 6 sandwiches divided into smaller bite sizes for your group and an assortment of desserts and a drink of choice. The service and the atmosphere were great. The desserts were amazing. The sandwiches were not good at all in my opinion. I might just be a picky person but there was so much sauce and they all tasted the same and not different enough. Too much mayo for sure and it just wasn’t my cup of tea at all. I don’t think many Americans would like it. And even my British friend said it had too much sauce. I left and for myself another sandwich at a shop nearby haha but again might just be my personal taste buds.

Went in to Tiny Tim’s for cream tea (7.5£). There was plenty of seating available- and the staff were full of hospitality and kindness. The tea room has a old school feel- with nicely done interiors. The tea room carried its history with it- and is right next to the Car Park. There is some outdoor seating as well (depending on the weather). The scones were delicious and warm- and the cream and strawberry jam added to its charm. The pot tea was one of the best I have had in a while- was flavourful and delish. The only thing- the crockery looked worn-out and could be replaced (maybe it’s because of the old world charm that they were still used). Would visit again. Thanks.

Came here for breakfast for my birthday with my partner and loved it. I ordered a kinder Bueno crepe (not a usual breakfast ik ik I can't help myself) and it was amazing! Unfortunately I didnt have my h of a sweet tooth and it was SUPER chocolate-y but if I came back again I have no doubts I wouldn't be able to scran it in an instant. Both me and my partner ordered the smoothies (me; mango and passion fruit, him; mango and strawberry) only complaints was that the strawberry was very overpowering (were mango lovers) he also got the egg and salmon on toast, again no complaints. Our food came out at different times but I'd rather eat a hot crepe then a cold one 🤷🏻‍♀️ staff there where amazing! There the second we walked through the door, asked us to find a seat and shortly came over with menus. Did ask us to pay after we ordered but no problem there :) 100% would come back and 100% would recommend!! (I dimmed down the 3rd picture for the sale of an Instagram story, it wasn't that dark)

I attended Jaggers on Friday for my Mums wedding reception and it exceeded expectations. The venue was decorated beautifully. The food was delicious as was the tea and coffee. The staff who were working on Friday were amazing. Extremely hard working and made the occasion very special for everyone. We were all looked after very well. I would definitely recommend Jaggers as a venue for a celebration.

Rating: 4.1 (2745) Price Level:

A lovely location situated by the marina. Don't be put off by the first sight of the building - we thought it looked like an old run down warehouse but then perhaps that was the idea! Reception was dark and gloomy (and unmanned - we waited ages before someone turned up) also the corridors are a bit dismal but again maybe because keeping the authentication of the building? Food was excellent with a good choice and sensible prices. Very popular with the locals. We found our room to be a bit small but it was well stocked, clean and had a lovely view of the marina.

I would certainly recommend this venue, and we will be returning. P.s Don't forget to register your vehicle reg for parking when you walk in.
