Called in here whilst visiting friends, we now live in Lincoln. Great place and dog friendly. Weather not too bad, for a change, and sat outside on the astro turf overlooking the river. I used to live near here and know the brave hearted swim, jumping from the bridge 😲. Greatly entertaining, I am sure but no one performing today😧. Barry and I both had a delicious ham, tomato, pickle sandwich in great brown bread coupled with a generous portion of chips. Reasonably priced with a glass of wine and pint of beer. Lovely in Winter with a wood burning stove in bar. No problem with parking. Would definitely return.

We spent 2 nights here - the night before and the night of our son's wedding. The rest of the bridal party - including the Bride and Groom - stayed here on the wedding night. The Manager, Mark, was quick to address and resolve a couple of problems that cropped up as a result of an engagement party taking over the entire restaurant and bar the night before the wedding. The rooms were clean, cosy and comfortable. The breakfasts were great - especially the one for 24 people the morning after the wedding. Nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciate the care Mark and his team took of us all. Thank you.

Found this place luckily as near to my first job the next day . Great first impression and warm welcome , unfortunately didn’t have the evening meal although the menu looked amazing. Greeted the next morning by a lovely friendly lady who sorted me out with the help of the kitchen staff with the best sausage and bacon sandwich I’ve ever had and a takeaway coffee. Only wish I had time for the full English sit down . Perfect end to a most luxurious overnight stay in what I can only say as my ideal posh pub with fabulous rooms . Will stay again for leisure purposes. Thanks to all again

Went for a quiet Wednesday evening date night and what can I say.. the best service and food I’ve had in a very long time! Even down to the apple juice clearly being locally sourced! We ordered lots of seafood which is so easily done wrong, but the chef produced fresh, tender and perfectly seasoned food. Don’t be put off by the small menu, the chef has perfected his craft within those dishes.. 10/10! And also Great value!

Stayed as part of a wedding party. The atmosphere off the pub was lovely and a beautiful layout. The staff are wonderful and friendly and couldn’t help enough. We stayed in Jake’s Orchard room. Very nice layout and design. The bed and pillows were so comfy! Best sleep I have ever had! Would definitely come back here for a nice summer’s lunch - now that I know it’s here! Thank you again! X

Super friendly staff, great food and lovely tea. Clean, modern and tidy restrooms too.
Rating: 5 / 5
Amazing coffee shop and great for a light lunch. Two staff gave excellent customer service. We had goats cheese and caramalised union toasty, ham off the bone and cheese sandwhich and salmon and cream cheese special sandwhich. Washed down with 3 glasses of fizz. Very reasonably priced at about £10 per head. Very highly recommended and will be sure to visit next time in Rochester. Value for money. Probably best cafe in the town.

Great coffee and toasties. We come here once a week and the service has always been excellent from every single member of staff. Lovely friendly atmosphere.

Esquires Coffee - Maidstone

Rating: 4.4 (407) Price Level:
A nice place to go for some food and a coffee. We went on a late Sunday morning for brunch and it was my first time going. I was not sure what the setup was with going to order your food/drink yourself. Could have had a little sign or one of the staff just letting me know but I figured it out in the end. The food and drink I don't have any complaints with as it was great. The apple juice tasted like I just put a straw in an apple. And the full English was lovely and fresh also with some amazing bacon. I would have liked to have a fried egg but they could only offer scrambled on the day. Overall a great place to eat and get a coffee. Would recommend.

Employees were very nice and welcoming. I ordered an almond milk latte and toast which was good (it’s kinda hard to f up toast). The latte tastes a lot like the one from Costa, not very strong

Unicorn Pub and Dining Room
The Unicorn, High St, Marden, Tonbridge TN12 9DR, UK | Pub P: 01622 831426
Rating: 4.4 (278) Price Level:
Very pleased to stop off at this pub for a Sunday Lunch. Traditional, relaxed and cosy pub. Everything you would expect in terms of drinks. We were impressed with the Sunday Roast. Large portions of meat accompanied by a range of well cooked vegetables (not overdone). One person had the fish and chips which was also very tasty. Reasonable prices for the portion size.

Organising a surprise birthday for a load of people can be tricky. My mum was given only a short time to live because of cancer so we did not think she would see another birthday. Needless to say, Nikki and her team at the Unicorn went above and beyond to make the evening feel so special. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Special made area of nibbles, decorations, party food table and so much more. Honestly, this was a night to remember. Nikki, I want to thank you and your team from the bottom of my heart for a wonderful evening!

Beautifully presented pub restaurant Food doesn’t get much better than that served at the Unicorn Pub and Restaurant. I love to take a snap or 50 of pubs; at the Unicorn it was the food that stood out. Inside, the interior is fresh with a mix of modern bright trinkets and farming equipment (just to make you aware you are in a country pub). The restaurant is humble, beaming from the light pouring in though it’s small windows. It is separate, but open to the bar area. The staff were humble, professional, chatty and courteous. The menu consists of a focussed range of traditional foods presented in their menu and on their specials board. Food arrived quickly and delivered accurately. Another great pub experience, The Unicorn crafts traditional foods beautifully in a refreshingly modern setting.

We had a great light lunch at the Unicorn today. The baguettes are superb! And they serve Harvey’s. Service was great and the place was clean and well maintained. It was quite busy even though it was a Wednesday lunchtime.

Bliss bar&restaurant
14 King St, Maidstone ME14 1DE, UK | Mediterranean Restaurant P: 01622 221066
Rating: 4.4 (110) Price Level:
Visited the restaurant a couple of times with friends and for a birthday celebration as well. The food is mixed Eastern European with a big choice of starters, salads and mains. The portions are really a good size as well and definitely meet the value for money, yammy too:) Service was good they do have a main waiter for group of tables and some that just serving the food and clean. The downside is the choice of entertainment. They do have two singers in the weekend which starts at around 22:30,but unfortunately the singing skills are not great and obviously this could play a big impact on the guests.Overall I will definitely go again, just hope they could maybe explore different types of entertainment. All the best

I recently had the pleasure of visiting BLISS in Maidstone, and I can confidently say it’s a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm, friendly service that made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is relaxing and beautifully decorated. A special mention to the food – it was absolutely amazing, adding the perfect touch to my visit. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality experience in Maidstone!

Received 5* service throughout the sitting. Enjoyed the quality and delicious food. Would like to mention Ms Melissa had there for us throughout the night serving and providing service when required. Excellent venue for group or family dinner. No comment on food and service. Reasonable prices for all menus.

Beautiful Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Maidstone. Good food and ambience. Service was a bit slow as we had to ask for bill twice, and eventually we went to the bar counter and paid. But overall it was a good experience.

Rating: 4.4 (78) Price Level:
When looking for a place to host my sisters baby shower, fed on the green stood out as a perfect little spot. Communications were really good and they accommodated us as a group of 15 after closing hours. They put on an incredible afternoon tea spread, and the service for drinks was great. I am so grateful to them, this is a perfect little gem for intimate occasions- Thankyou so much!

It is very seldom now when everything is perfect at a given cafe. But this place was the one for me. Lovely meeting smile. Welcome and nice atmosphere. Food was absolutely delicious, you can taste the quality. Also got a takeaway coffee in cute pink cup, you can pick alternative milk for free. Attention to details. As a bonus located in nice area. Thank you for our experience

The Loose Chequers

Great lunch after a lovely walk around the village.
Rating: 5 / 5
Had a lovely lunch with my parents and brother. Lovely cosy old pub and the 2 girls who served us were great
Rating: 5 / 5
Although we have lived only walking distance from this wonderful establishment, this was the first time we visited... And we weren't disappointed. Mrs and I, and our dog (yes, dogs are allowed but best to let them know in advance) on a Friday evening for "Steak night". The place was busy, but nice busy. Very cosy and warm. The service was excellent, with the landlady being very attentive. The food was lovely and the steak was delicious. However, my favourite was the Scotch Egg started. Proper home made, yolk was beautifully soft. I could have eaten ten! Would definitely visit and recommend this place. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Rating: 4 / 5
Set by the beautiful waterways in the quiet town of Loose, there is no better setting for a pub. The Chequers Inn is undoubtedly a proper pub, 17th Century and beaming inside and and out. The pub is centred around the bar area with peripheral seating areas for those wanting to have tired feet or want to enjoy traditional pub food. I like The Chequers Inn style, it doesn’t try hard to meet the needs of check lists and social media review systems. It is a laid back, warm & welcoming atmosphere within which to enjoy well prepared pub grub. The food menu is traditional at its core, but does nod to the flamboyant with its french inspired fish dishes. The presentations the food is excellent overall. I admired my main course, the Salmon Nicoise, for an indeterminable amount of time before devouring it. There is always room to improve things, but the Chequers shouldn’t. It has a refreshing charm that many of the chain pubs lack.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday. Set in a lovely location with good walks nearby. Wasn't particularly busy which was perfect to have a good selection of seating and fast service. In my view the food menu isn't particularly inspiring but everything we had was freshly prepared and well cooked. Great for children, particularly because of the ice cream machine and milkshakes.

Wildwood Restaurants Maidstone
37-41 Earl St, Maidstone ME14 1PF, UK | Restaurant P: 01622 755339
Rating: 4.4 (944) Price Level:
Food was excellent. The staff make it even more special. I had the seafood linguine which had so much seafood but just needed a bit more depth in flavour with the tomato sauce. Drink prices quite high but expected. As my daughter's birthday they also put a candle on her dessert.
Rating: 5 / 5
I had a lovely festive evening out recently! The food was top-notch, especially the spaghetti carbonara and the baked chocolate cookie dough – both were delicious and presented beautifully. The atmosphere was exactly what I hoped for, really festive and welcoming. Although the service was generally warm and friendly, the speed could have been a tad quicker, but it didn’t ruin the experience. Overall, I can't wait to return for more of those tasty dishes!
Rating: 5 / 5
The staff are so attentive and wonderful. I have been a number of times with either just my wife or the whole family. The kitchen produce some fantastic quality food at very reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.
Rating: 5 / 5
I have just enjoyed a lovely afternoon with 14 other family members at Wildwood and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service we received was fantastic. Staff were always checking to see if everything was ok, checking if we wanted more drinks and helping out whenever we needed anything. I just wanted to say thank you for being so helpful and accommodating to a large party of diners you really made it easy and I would recommend 100%. Thank you.

I booked this place for my partner’s birthday a couple of months ago. From the food to the atmosphere, everything was spot on. The starters as well as the mains were exquisite, and the service was impeccable. We did get slightly interrupted by an unwanted guest (a bee), but the staff handled it well! The food we ordered was: calamari and bruschetta (for the starter) and steak+fries as well as seafood risotto. I could not recommend this place more!
