Full marks for our lunch today at The Coach House, celebrating a friend's birthday. We were a mixed group of diners, including two vegans and a vegetarian, and although this isn't a dedicated veggie menu, we each found a delicious and well-cooked choice from the pitta menu - two falafel and one halloumi, both served with salad and incredibly tasty seasoned chips. Our server was very attentive, and the chef came out personally to check that we were all happy and that the food was good. Very reasonably priced, and a decent drinks list. Thank you Coach House, we will be back soon! š

We were staying next door and Coach House immediately felt like an extension of our cottage! Very friendly husband and wife team, great Greek influenced food (my chicken salad was fantastic), family friendly. Also good breakfast options, we had coffee and cake and just regret not being able to try more options!

Fabulous place for lunch! The Spartan burger is awesome! The millionaire biscoff cake is delicious, we were 6 hungry cyclists who left full up and happy! We will be coming back, super quick service too

A Hidden Gem in New Romney: The Coach House My wife and I are not frequent diners, but when we do indulge, we seek out venues that offer great cuisine at reasonable prices. The Coach House in New Romney has consistently exceeded our expectations, earning the title of the best dining spot in town by a long shot! What sets The Coach House apart is its dedication to quality. Every dish showcases ingredients of the highest caliber, with a focus on sourcing locally whenever possible. From farm-fresh produce to succulent meats, each bite is a testament to the Freds commitment to excellence. It's disheartening to see recent reviews that fail to recognize the value of this small, local gem. These criticisms seem unjustified and out of touch with the realities of running a business like The Coach House. Perhaps these individuals would be better suited to the food and environment offered in a less classy establishment, but for those who appreciate genuine culinary craftsmanship, The Coach House is a true find. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Fred and Hazel for their tireless dedication to delivering exceptional food. Their commitment to quality and passion for food shines through in every dish, making The Coach House a must-visit destination for anyone with an appreciation for fine cuisine. Thanks to Fred, Hazel, and the entire team for their continued excellence!

My partner and I ate here as we wanted to grab a bit to eat whilst enjoying the sun and we were both stunned by the food. The chef has got his flavours absolutely nailed, everything tasted amazing and the dishes were the type that youād expect at a high end restaurant. This being said, the prices were still very affordable and the portion sizes are generous - so much so that I walked in quite hungry and still couldnāt finish my plate. The only criticism I have is that we waited upwards of 20 minutes for our food, but Iām more than happy to look past this as it was very busy, the food was well worth the wait, and the staff were attentive and checked on us regularly. If youāre Kent based and havenāt checked this hidden gem out, please do!

Arrived in New Romney for a holiday from Stoke-on-Trent. Called in for an evening meal and from walking through the door we were greeted by a friendly lady who showed us to a table. I was really hot as we had walked from our holiday camp down the road and she switched on the air conditioning which was a lovely gesture. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. The food was lovely and served with a smile. Overall we would eat there again as they were so accommodating. I highly recommend. First class.

Breakfast the next day was lovely and plentiful too. I really can't fault it at all. Charlotte who I believe is the manager was fantastic so I'd like to send thanks to her and all the staff. Thank you all.

Had Sunday lunch with 3 friends on 25/8 and was a very good experience. Firstly it was heavily booked but they found us a table within 15 minutes. All had roast dinners and were all happy with food (quality and quantity) and served up 10 minutes after ordering. Our server, Miranda, was lovely. Very friendly and efficient and made sure we were all happy with our order. All in all a great experience.

Fabulous food and wonderful service. Our compliments to the chef for beautifully cooking our meals. Despite the late hour, there were plenty of options. Staff are very welcoming and engaging to talk with. Our dog was made to feel welcome and spoilt for attention. Will definitely come back, looking forward to trying the Christmas menu.

My parents stayed for a short break over the past week. This is what you will get: - Well located with safe car park - Wholesome food and menu - Friendly, approachable and responsive service - Adequate rooms (ageing)* - Good value per night - Well suited for alternative restaurants, fuel and snacks My parents enjoyed the stay and wanted to underline the level of attention the staff went to, to make it an enjoyable stay. * at the point of writing, but we learnt the new management will be starting a total refresh over the Winter of 2024-25. Much needed but will make a big difference.

My wife and I went here for a spot of lunch and the best way to describe it is as decent pub grub. Good value and worth a visit.

2022 Friendly local pub. No ale on draught but got some in bottles 2023 update, Ubu pure on tap, a solid 3.5 out of 5, high praise from me! Quiet this late in the season on a Thursday at 13:00h, the owner is friendly though and the kitchen is open nonetheless. Busier Thursday Friday and Saturday nights with special events such as Halloween fancy dress (see their Facebook page ;-) ). 2024 update, came for a wee drink with my Mum. Lovely jubbly.

We were staying in the neighbourhood for a holiday and went here 3 days in a row. First day lunch, second day drinks and third Day for the Sunday Roast. Nice place, smells like a fireplace/smoked. Very cosy. Very nice employees (Charlie). The food was delicious. Big drinks. Not too expensive. Excellent service. Not a party place, just nice food and drinks We definitely come back when we are in the neighbourhood

We were blown away by the size and quality of the food, they had a band playing called the golden wonders who were incredible!! We were also allowed to stay in the car park :) thank you āŗļø

A beautiful example of what pubs used to be in the best way - friendly staff, honest food, and decor that gave me a flashback to my childhood. This is the opposite from a gastropub. We came for Sunday lunch without a booking and they fitted us in. The food was tasty, was it the most amazing Sunday roast Iāve ever eaten? Maybe not (however the roast potatoes were simply amazing), but it was a decent, tasty carvery with good meat and staff who obviously cared about food and making their customers happy. Strongly recommended for the experience and atmosphere.

I just want to thank the lady again who really gave myself& my client exceptional service, while I was working as a support worker. I did ask for your name however I have forgotten. But I did not forget how amazing you were on Saturday! We came in and out a couple of times to use the facilities and grab a tea/coffee, and everytime you had a massive smile on your face, and was helpful, chatty. I forgot my card and you gave me a free latte. So to the brown-haired, beautiful lady who was working a couple of days ago you are a credit to your team and to the community. PS sorry for the bad photo of you but you made our day special.

Very spacious and comfy place for a coffee. The staff is really helpful. If you are lucky you might get parking in the street.
Rating: 4 / 5
OK so it's a referbished pub. However, it still looks like an old pub inside, dated and definitely not modern. This could be to fit in with the surrounding area I suppose but it wasn't to my taste. We did find parking on a side road but I've been told that this is rare. The service was brilliant and the two girls were all smiles and polite. We ordered hot chocolates and they tasted delightful. Unfortunately the toilet was not in the best condition and with just one, I don't really think the place could deal with lots of customers at once. I wouldnt want to visit again but if you want a take away Costa with impeccable service, this is a Costa to visit.
