Rating: 4.5 (860) Price Level:

Called in here late afternoon on a Sunday. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the level of service they provide is excellent. The pub itself is a very old and picturesque building. Well maintained both outside and in. And in the heart of scenic Romney Marsh. The food was great. I chose the sirloin steak, my partner chose trout. Both dishes were perfectly cooked, and very well presented. And there was oh so much of it! I would recommend paying a visit to The Woolpack Inn, for all the reasons above!

We went with our 4 year old grand daughter and the staff were really engaging with her ! The food was amazing, little one said the spag Bol was better was mine!! She was asked which decoration was her favourite on the Xmas tree and then was given it! She was so pleased and it’s now proudly on her own tree! Will definitely be returning.

Every dish we tried, from the freshly made pasta to the perfectly seasoned pizza, was bursting with flavour and clearly made with the finest ingredients. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. Overall, this restaurant delivers an authentic Italian dining experience that leaves you wanting more. I’ll definitely be returning and will be recommending it to friends and family. A true gem!

From the moment we walked into Ruzzo Italian, the atmosphere was inviting and warm. The service was impeccable, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The menu offered a wide variety of classic Italian dishes, and every bite we had was absolutely delicious. We started with their bruschetta, which was perfectly seasoned, with fresh tomatoes and basil on crispy, toasted bread. For the main course, I had the Fettuccine Alfredo, which was rich and creamy, with just the right balance of flavors. My partner opted for the Lasagna, which was hearty, flavorful, and made with fresh ingredients. The wine selection was excellent, and the staff were happy to recommend a perfect pairing for our meal. We finished with a delightful Tiramisu for dessert – light, flavorful, and the perfect end to a wonderful meal. The atmosphere was cozy yet elegant, making it ideal for both a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends and family. Ruzzo Italian truly exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return for another fantastic meal. Highly recommended!

After the most awful experience a few years ago I was so traumatised I knew I could never visit a dentist again. After starting to get pain in a tooth I decided I had to. All I can say is the experience was so great. The dentist made me feel at ease and so much care was taken. He was amazing. Going back in 6 months 👍😁

Really lovely meal. We were given a salad with some freshly made bread and a couple of dips as a starter. On the house. Our main courses were excellent, but so big we didn't have room for a desert. My turkish coffee came beautifully presented, see the photo.... The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Would definitely return. Thank you very much. for an excellent lunch.

I went there with a group of friends and it was a very pleasant experience. The female waiters were amazing and checked in often. Our food was good and appetizers were fair portions. We ordered a giant platter with different meats. All very good. Only thing was that the paper menus they gave us had inconsistent pricing with the menus inside.

Many thanks to Steve and the team at the bucket and spade who always make us feel welcome , it's normally at half way stop off for our weekly walk but we're parking closer and staying longer , they have a great choice of food and drinks at a very reasonable price, with comfortable sofas and tables for bigger groups ( dogs included) . We came for a tea and a rest but now it's tea , toasted pannis and a slice of cake . Many thanks to all at the Bucket and Spade. definitely see you soon

I absolutely love this coffee shop. Rachael and Steve the owners are always very friendly and welcoming. Takeaway only at the moment due to covid - had a lovely takeaway cream tea. Enjoyed the very fresh sweet and savoury scones. Can't wait until we're able to sit inside again and relax in there, enjoying the many other lovely things on the menu. Here's my picture from another day when I just had a tea. Lovely day. Lovely tea.

Great pub, great staff, great food and great punters! Spent three days in New Romney recently and the Cinque quickly became our go to pub. Talk about a warm, welcoming pub! Simply cannot fault the place. Don't miss out on their rustic chips either (much better than French fries). Cheapest pub in the hight street too! Cannot recommend this pub highly enough. A Hidden Gem in New Romney: The Coach House My wife and I are not frequent diners, but when we do indulge, we seek out venues that offer great cuisine at reasonable prices. The Coach House in New Romney has consistently exceeded our expectations, earning the title of the best dining spot in town by a long shot! What sets The Coach House apart is its dedication to quality. Every dish showcases ingredients of the highest caliber, with a focus on sourcing locally whenever possible. From farm-fresh produce to succulent meats, each bite is a testament to the Freds commitment to excellence. It's disheartening to see recent reviews that fail to recognize the value of this small, local gem. These criticisms seem unjustified and out of touch with the realities of running a business like The Coach House. Perhaps these individuals would be better suited to the food and environment offered in a less classy establishment, but for those who appreciate genuine culinary craftsmanship, The Coach House is a true find. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Fred and Hazel for their tireless dedication to delivering exceptional food. Their commitment to quality and passion for food shines through in every dish, making The Coach House a must-visit destination for anyone with an appreciation for fine cuisine. Thanks to Fred, Hazel, and the entire team for their continued excellence!

Full marks for our lunch today at The Coach House, celebrating a friend's birthday. We were a mixed group of diners, including two vegans and a vegetarian, and although this isn't a dedicated veggie menu, we each found a delicious and well-cooked choice from the pitta menu - two falafel and one halloumi, both served with salad and incredibly tasty seasoned chips. Our server was very attentive, and the chef came out personally to check that we were all happy and that the food was good. Very reasonably priced, and a decent drinks list. Thank you Coach House, we will be back soon! 🙂

My partner and I ate here as we wanted to grab a bit to eat whilst enjoying the sun and we were both stunned by the food. The chef has got his flavours absolutely nailed, everything tasted amazing and the dishes were the type that you’d expect at a high end restaurant. This being said, the prices were still very affordable and the portion sizes are generous - so much so that I walked in quite hungry and still couldn’t finish my plate. The only criticism I have is that we waited upwards of 20 minutes for our food, but I’m more than happy to look past this as it was very busy, the food was well worth the wait, and the staff were attentive and checked on us regularly. If you’re Kent based and haven’t checked this hidden gem out, please do!

Very friendly team with great recommendations. Superb Steak & Cheddar Pie! Fresh veg and mash and plenty of gravy. Peaceful in the garden. Looked a little cosy inside. Well worth a visit. Plus, a good pub will always supply you with a sachet of Stokes mayonnaise, and that’s exactly what they did. (Although we didn’t think it was required for the delicious lasagne or pie, and so it’s going back with us for beer battered onion rings in the caravan).

Good old fashioned honest pub serving simple food done very well. Had a Sunday lunch of slow roast leg of lamb and trimmings - absolute massive piece of extremely tasty lamb and lots of nice veg: roast pots, cauliflower, broccoli & carrots. Yorkshire and gravy too. Very reasonably priced. Recommended. Edit: went again at the start of November. Still excellent!

Found this pub through Google maps, whilst staying in the area. Friendly welcome on arrival. Food was really good, properly homemade food! Husband had Steak and stilton pie, and I chose stuffed Pork Belly, both meals with potatoes and seasonal veg and excellent gravy. Very reasonable prices. Also good honeycomb cheesecake and I had coffee. Highly recommend. Proper pub, proper food (real pastry pie with top and bottom homemade pastry, not just casserole with pastry lid) proper nice change!
