4 of us visiting for lunch on Wednesday 23rd Jan 25 after a lovely 5.5 mile walk around the Piethorn valley. We sampled the well kept Titanic Ale before ordering our meals that were Steak n Kidney pie, Steak n Kidney pudding and 2 Rag puddings all with gravy, a generous portion of chips and a large bowl of mushy peas. I have to state that we cleared our plates and enjoyed the food immensely! Friendly lady behind the bar made us very welcome as did the few locals present. A proper pub with good warm feeling and pleasing decor. Very much recommend a visit and intend to return very soon!

We booked for a party of 8 on a Sunday afternoon, and everything was spot on. The standard menu is supplemented by a range of specials and (as it was Sunday) a choice of two roast dinners. Everything was reasonably priced, service was attentive and the portions were ample. Will definitely return.

Definitely favourite, food excellent, great atmosphere, quick service, generous portions, good value, landlady is a treasure, all the staff are great. Highly recommend. Had a few birthday celebrations here couldn't fault it.

Everything about this place is absolutely amazing, but especially the food. My boyfriends known about this place for ages but he’s only recently brought me here. The staff are extremely lovely, the food is always 12/10 and the atmosphere is just lovely.

A great lick of paint to a badly neglected honeypot; we needed a place to call base on this circuit, especially for large groups. I'll miss the old place, but it wasn't fit for purpose. Now, the Rspca run the ship and the kitchen steers the clientele. Wish that I could say the same of the floor team, a lovely bunch but except for the supervisor they were fumbling every other order, not on the ball, and didn't know their own menu! I had to correct the guy three times until they found the cake I asked for, clearly by name lol. A bit more polish on service, and you won't be serving large clumps of ice in your iced drinks either, oh dear... Other than those issues, and some till squabbling, its clean, roomy, affordable!

This is the best cafe I have been to for a very very long time. The breakfasts were absolutely superb, high quality ingredients and the chef really knows his craft! And still very reasonable. Beautiful setting and very friendly, happy staff in a light and airy setting.

One of our favourite restaurants. We visit regularly and are never disappointed. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly and make special occasions fun for all! Food is outstanding and great value for money. Gorgeous setting with a great atmosphere.

We booked here for a family meal to celebrate our daughter’s 21st. As always the food was amazing, the service was fantastic and there was a real warm atmosphere. Having been here before, we were very well looked after by Mark who always provides outstanding service. A lovely meal to end a weekend of celebrations.

Wow! What can I tell you? What a place - we were booked in (30+ of us) on a Saturday night. The place was packed! At least another table of 30 on our floor, another function downstairs plus walk ins. Service was fantastic and fairly prompt for such a large group, food was incredible, tasty and fresh, the beer was good too! The staff were excellent and despite clearly being extremely busy and at times stressed they were friendly and jovial. Absolutely would recommend! For a function or a nice meal.

Called in tonight with my friends after seeing a show in Manchester. We didn’t book a table but was seated immediately. Had a lovely meal and wine at a very reasonable price. The staff are lovely and attentive. Will definitely return.

I've eaten at Grape N Grain many times. The Sunday lunch is delicious and comes with a lovely variety of accompaniments. The portions are plentiful and well presented. I've also had the small plates on offer. The cheese pie is perfect to name but one! The atmosphere is always very relaxed, with a good choice of background music to enjoy the food, beers, wine and lovely cocktails. The staff work so hard to give an enjoyable, relaxing experience to the customers at this Bar and Restaurant. I hope they continue to be successful!

The pub is situated near the canal for a lovely walk. We called in for lunch when it was fairly quiet in early afternoon. I had the best homemade cheese and onion plate pie that I've EVER had, and I choose it alot. My friend had the kebabs, well cooked, tasty as well as well presented. We'll definitely visit again.

An unfussy pub serving some nice beer and food by friendly and helpful staff. There's parking and it also welcomes walkers from the canal path and their dogs. Like the regulars, pick a time when they're not suddenly overwhelmed, and you'll have no probs.

A shining light of hospitality right on the lake front. Gorgeous sundown views over the lake and the rowers and the geese. Wicked double espresso with a shot of vodka, decent enough espresso martini, surprisingly poor wines by the glass considering the prices - £7.60 for a large serve of an extremely mediocre Argentinian Malbec I certainly wouldn't expect to pay more than £6 at the supermarket. But it doesn't actually matter. It's such a refreshing and welcoming place in the middle of a long hike, lovely young Italian staff at the bar (from Napoli), extremely accommodating. Highly recommend it.

Really fabulous venue next to the lake. Just perfect! Lovely views of the lake and the scenery. Gorgeous food. Great varied choice of drinks. An ice cream van on site. Air conditioning inside. Highly recommended if you visit the lake. Perfect spot and great atmosphere with lovely people.

Absolutely amazing little place right next to the lake just beautiful on a sunny day. Staff very friendly and nice always full of smile. Inside is spotless clean. The food is very good priced and always spot on with taste. Gets very busy on sunny weekend but during the week is just perfect.

Cannot fault The Wine Press at all. We had a large (32 people) family get together with them today and it was brilliant. The food was all very good and the staff were exceptional. It was a perfect space for our get together, great relaxed atmosphere - highly recommended.

Just had the breakfast wrap and all I can say is wow! Arrived supper hot and packed with the most beautiful and best quality ingredients. The bacon was so thick with no fat on and the sausage was one of the best, if not best I’ve ever had. Mushrooms were tasty and the wrap was very well presented. Excellent value for money for the quality of food you get. Didn’t have to wait long for delivery either. Will definitely be ordering one again, soon. Thank you guys. Hats off to the Chef x

What a lovely place to eat the main reason being the staff that were very welcoming. I was with a party of 16 we hadn't reserved any tables but it was no problem for the staff to fit us all in. They allowed us to bring a cake to celebrate a birthday & presented it on a stand. Everyone was more than satisfied with the food which was delicious. I'm sure everyone in the walking group will agree that all staff were lovely nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to all staff.

Found this firm to be very professional. At my house they put in five new double plugs, replaced one faulty double light switch in the hall, and a faulty plug in the bedroom, and put on a new light fitting in the bedroom. They made no mess and cleared away the rubbish, even vacuuming the area they worked in. Very pleased with the standard of work and would highly recommend them.

Highly recommend. Had an electrical issue from previous homeowners which we've spoken to numerous electricians about but unable to diagnose or fix. Phase 8 came out quickly and persisted over 3 visits, diagnosed the issue and fixed it. The two electricians were professional and friendly. The cost was also very reasonable.

Brilliant Company I enquired about replacement of an old fluorescent strip light in my kitchen plus replacement of a Motion Sensor outside light last week. Dave came on Monday this week to do both jobs. I am delighted with the work. Phase Electrical NW are an exceptional company - responsive and reliable - the electricians are excellent. A nice gastro pub near Brighouse We popped in for a light lunch on a Sunday early afternoon. We stopped because it looked a nice gastro pub as we were in the area. The restaurant was quite quiet and it took a little while before anyone acknowledged us at the table. Service was pleasant enough but not great. We ordered a hot steak sandwich which came with blue cheese and fries plus chicken tenders served with a katsu sauce plus a couple of soft drinks from the bar. The food was very nice, served piping hot and quickly once our order was taken. Would we go back in not sure but that's down to the service we received on the day not the quality of the food

From the initial first contact it took just 3 weeks for the job to be completed with my certificates on my lap, I have nothing but praise!
