The Taj Mahal Bridport

20 East St, Bridport DT6 3LF, UK | Indian Restaurant

Rating: 4.3 (353) Price Level:

Recommended by a hotel employee and really wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is small and was packed. Felt sorry for staff as 2 had let them down. We had a good mix of bindhi bhaji, chicken Malaya, cheese and garlic naan and a king Prawn biryani. No point breaking each down as all were hot and tasty. They advertise as an authentic Indian restaurant. They haven't wasted time doing 100's of dishes. It is a focused well planned menu. We are oassing through but I thoroughly recommend eating here.

We popped in on the off chance and were met with a friendly and warm welcome. The food was amazing... onion bhaji- 3 per portion! Chicken Korma was beautiful and cooked to perfection. Coconut rice, superb. Peshwari naan, delicious. Absolutely fabulous evening. Will definitely go again without hesitation. Thoroughly recommended.

We are on holiday in West Bay and decided to order an Indian meal. It was delicious and delivered on time. We had lamb madras, a lovely garlic naan and chicken biryani which came with lovely vegetable curry with chick peas. It lasted us two days and we have good appetites! So good value. Highly recommended.

Wow, what a wonderful Indian restaurant. The food was out of this world. The service was also outstanding, and we didn't wait long for any of the food ordered. There was a lot of choice. We walked in around 6pm, but can imagine that this restaurant would be very busy as the evening goes on.

The Seaside Boarding House

Cliff Rd, Burton Bradstock, Bridport DT6 4RB, UK | Restaurant
P: 01308 897205

Rating: 4.4 (546) Price Level:

Gorgeous lunch with truly delicious food. We shared lots of the starters - standouts were the potted crab & lobster with soda bread & the cod roe's pate with focaccia slices. Then mains were all tasty but not as exciting as starters. To finish the treacle tart was one of the best I have ever tasted. The waiter was great and the gorgeous weather and view made it a perfect long lunch on Saturday. Would recommend to anyone who wants super fresh & local seafood and produce.

I can't comment on the accommodation as I only went here to dine - but, everything about the experience was really good! From the outside the building is neat, but not dramatic, but from inside the views are outstanding and the place is spotless. There's a very creative menu with excellent flavours, a good bar and lounge, and some of the nicest staff you'll ever encounter.

Sundorbon Indian Restaurant & Takeaway Delivery

68 South St, Bridport DT6 3NN, UK | Indian Restaurant
P: 01308 425266

Rating: 4.4 (502) Price Level:

It was a delightful evening in the Sundorbon, the staff were all lovely, especially Beverly, who served our table. The food was super yummy, I really recommend the Tiger prawn Kolada. The kitchen will make it as spicy as you would like, so mine was flavourful and mild. I also had the Spick chicken masala Bhuna which out of all the dishes was my favourite. And for desert we shared a pistachio Kulfi. It was a smooth and perfumie ice-cream and I loved it. We tried all the nans my favourite was the coconut nan. I tried 5 mains and to be fair you couldn't go wrong. Highly recommended this restaurant 👌 👍

The Bull Hotel, Bridport

34 East St, Bridport DT6 3LF, UK | Hotel
P: 01308 422878

Rating: 4.4 (818) Price Level:

Beautiful hotel, lovely cool courtyard with plenty of iced water on tap. Really lovely, helpful staff. We stayed for a couple of nights as part of a large wedding party and they bent over backwards to accommodate us. Nothing was too much bother for them and all our party thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Bull, despite the intense heat! We will be returning I'm sure.

Popped in off the street for a coue of Pork Sunday dinners. Table service available and a really good sun trap of an outside eating area. Food was very nice indeed everything was very tasty and well cooked and presented. Especially loved the pureed butternut Squash.

The room was modern, clean, comfortable with some amazing amenities. The breakfast was fantastic. My only complaint would be all the banging around at 5am when the staff started work. I never got back to sleep after that rude awakening.

I liked this hotel but it is not for anyone who is noise sensitive. The rooms look like on the website but the single rooms are super small. I heard every door, every step above and everyone in the beer garden. And because of that this would have been a 3 star review if not for the excellent breakfast which I loooooved. There is a small buffet of yoghurt, granola and juices and then you order from a menu. My soft scramble was so good, I still think about it. I also had the Sunday Roast which was also good.

Having a few days stay in West Bay we decided to visit The George for a drink, and a meal. Service was very good, with friendly staff, efficiently enjoying their job. The Palmers Ale "200" was on point, a bitter sweet smooth flavour with good taste. The food was very reasonably priced, The steak was cooked perfect The Scallops and prawns was just perfect 👌🏻. Definitely our sort of place, eell recommended

Can't really comment on the rooms as we were stopping at Parkdean. We thought we would give it a try one night and ended up eating most nights there. Excellent food, good portions, hot and delicious. Staff were very attentive, friendly and nothing too much trouble. Very busy all the time which I'm not surprised about but they always went out of their way to accommodate 7 of us each night. Can't recommend this place enough, absolutely brilliant. If we are down Dorset way again we will definitely be returning to The George.

We did not stay at the George but we came for a meal, we both had steaks which were cooked perfectly, the rest of the meal was also superb and the prices are absolutely fantastic for the quality of food you get. Staff were so friendly and helpful a big thank you to them for the service Highly recommend a visit if you are in west bay

Lovely hotel. We stayed in the suite which was gorgeous and clean. Lots of space and comfortable bed. The bathroom was a generous size. The room could do with some light curtains as you can be seen from outside. Had to draw heavy blinds whilst changing which blocks out the light. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice except the coffee. I only drink decaffeinated beverages for health reasons. Unfortunately the decaf latte was shockingly bad. It wasn't a latte, just milky flat coffee. I like the taste of good coffee. Then proceeded to give me what appeared to be watered-down black coffee to add. It didn't take away from the stay and nice service but they need to train their staff how to make a decent cup of coffee. They need to add sufficient coffee beans and at a decent quality. All in all a lovely stay.

Pleased to find such a welcoming, comfortable proper pub. Fresh yet cosy decor and friendly, attentive staff. We enjoyed a light lunch of salt and pepper squid and whitebait, beautifully presented and delicious with nice extra touches to elevate it to a high standard. The garden is a pretty suntrap, with views to the cliffs.

Room very spacious and high quality room amenities. Staff very friendly and attentive. However, room sound proofing could be better. I could hear residents upstairs watching a movie! Great free breakfast menu with very good variety and quality breakfast to choose from. However, we were caught off guard by charges for coffee and juices that we ordered at breakfast!! Would have thought it would be part of the free breakfast, would have been good to be told of this when we ordered rather than finding out at checkout!! Convenient free parking but would have been useful to be given instructions before arriving where the free parking was. Would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for the suprise drinks charges!!

Coffee#1 Bridport

35 East St, Bridport DT6 3JX, UK | Coffee Shop
P: 01308 456315

Rating: 4.2 (636) Price Level:

Lovely iced coffee and coffee. Server was really friendly however the lady preparing the drinks seemed quiet harassed and not very friendly when asked if there was any straws and answered very stressful "we don't have any straws" no means of an apology or explanation. Found it quiet blunt and rude. Shame as the ambience was so lovely but would consider whether to return or not.

Best coffee i've had in Coffee#1 just now. Hot, thick frothy milk and she even cleansed my reusable cup for me! its a f4 star however, as there are very few sockets - almost as bad as the Costa here🙄

I enjoy visits to Coffee#1. Had a pot of tea this time and a flapjack. It was quite small and not worth £2.65. I know costs are high, but this was not value for money. It's a good place with a variety of seats and tables.

Went in Costa first and it was so cold and lacking in atmosphere that we turned around and left, and walked up to Coffee #1 instead, and how glad I am that we did! Amazing atmosphere, wonderfully funny & welcoming staff, and the coffee’s delicious and very reasonably priced. Plenty of space and comfy chairs, dogs welcome, really lovely, we’ll be back!

Huge muscles in a nicely balanced blue cheese cream sauce. The fish chowder was also lovely, great tasting fish and fresh veg. We enjoyed on a wet and windy day, outside seating had heaters which warmed us up nicely. Would recommend after a walk.

This is a well loved beach cafe which has beautiful scenic views, it is very popular and rightly so. The menu is mainly fish and seafood dishes. However, they do a smashing full English breakfast up to 11.30 am. I will post pics. This dog friendly beach cafe has a carpark close by, but if you choose to walk along the cliff top path or the lower paths, you will walk within the most beautiful scenery. This is a totally table service venue, so once you are seated, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. Prices are reasonable.

Came here today, after walking from our campsite at Graston Copse through Burton Bradstock village. A warm welcome by a member of staff & shown to our outside table for 4 with 3 dogs. Our waitress took our drinks order & returned after a few minutes to take our food order. She was very friendly and attentive, giving time for a chat despite being extremely busy. Wait for our food was minimal and when it arrived it was hot, tasty & well presented. Back ground music was pleasant, giving the Mediterranean feeling due to the sunshine. Wouldn't hesitate in returning if we are in the area again .... thank you.

We arrived at 11.20, just in time to order breakfast. We were lucky to get the table on the edge of the 'tent' overlooking the beach. Despite being quite busy we received very efficient service. The food arrived within 15- 20 min, then our hot drinks. We had 3 x full English and egg Benedict on muffin with bacon. Everyone enjoyed it. The only nuisance were a few wasps but not a lot to spoil our experience.

Incredibly incredibly kind service here. Dog friendly (we came with our medium sized dog on a Wednesday lunchtime) and was sat next to an older gentleman. Our server Reece was impeccably polite and attentive while leaving us to enjoy our food at our own pace. But Reece was absolutely phenomenal with the older gentleman who was clearly a regular but found it difficult to both move and remember things. Reece was kind and very very patient while also making sure the gentleman ordered only what he needed without incurring any additional cost, being polite and respectful of the gentleman’s dignity and independence, all while still looking after our table of 3 plus our dog. So impressive and such a trustworthy establishment - thank you Reece

The food here is bloody incredible, it seems they have a new menu and new food served which is 11/10. Burgers were juicy, flavourful, presented beautifully. Service was absolutely fantastic, very friendly staff, and very accommodating. Only down side is how empty it was! Both me and my partner were surprised, the food, service and cleanliness was brilliant. You have a Wetherspoons down the road full up to the brim serving mediocre food when you’ve got a great restaurant down the road, which is just as affordable. Definitely recommend!

We were impressed with the Market House. We hadn't planned what we were going to do, but walked passed and decided to have a coffee. We sat outside at a table on the pavement. We ordered at the bar and the service was very good. We added to the order and had food and enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and polite. We liked it so much we plan to go back.
