Stayed in Marnhul for a midweek break, this the local pub. A great social hub. Locals friendly and welcoming. Landlord and staff were great. A special thanks to Mark for looking after us and the dog. It's not very often you get a really good and varied menu nowadays in a pub. This was both. We ate every night and the quality was outstanding. We had a great time. Thanks very much

Had a meal for 2 here. The food was lovely and there were good gluten free options, including calamari. I also had the cheeseboard without crackers and it was huge and delicious.

A great traditional Pub, friendly atmosphere, serves good pub food. We will go again it may even become our remote local.

Recommended by some friends who live locally. Extensive menu, although it was pizza night so we chose off that menu. Very tasty, and the side portions (chips, onion rings, garlic bread) were HUGE! Great selection of drinks as well. Does seem to be busy, so may be an idea to book ahead. Planning a return visit for a Sunday Roast! đ

Lovely little tea room in the Heart of the town, amazing afternoon tea, a varied choice of delicious sandwiches mini pies & quiche, followed by light plain or fruit scones jam & clotted cream and a delicious selection of home baked cakes, a pot of tea or coffee to wash it all down! Cosy and intimate, this family run cafe is an oasis of calm and an excellent place to recharge between the myriad gifting opportunities of Sturminster Newtonâs high street. We came for the car show, headed in for a quick coffee, and felt such a warm welcome, we stayed for scones. Thank you for making us feel so at home.

We use this cafe regularly over the year, never disappointed.. Hadn't managed to visit for a few months due to life taking over but returned this weekend as usual and everyone remembers you, such friendly staff and me and my daughter always feel welcomed. Food always lovely and well cooked too. I would find it hard to imagine anyone wouldn't enjoy the experience Well done and keep it up team. đ„°

Blackmarsh Farm Café
Blackmarsh Farm, Dodd's Cross, Sherborne DT9 4JX, UK | Cafe P: 01935 815040
Rating: 4.6 (177) Price Level:
Good location on the edge of Sherborne to let the kids run and play while you sit comfortably in the old farm yard with a cake and coffee or maybe a light lunch.
Rating: 5 / 5
An amazing maize, maze one of the best around. What a pity it's the final maze this year. A wonderful attraction for all the family with all the usual facilities including a superb little cafe. Play area for younger children and very reasonably priced. Staff extremely friendly and helpful adding to the experience. The maze is open all summer until early September so get in there quickly for a brilliant day out!
Rating: 5 / 5
Went with my sister ( a local ) and daughter and granddaughter. Food was really lovely. Highly reccomend the quiche. The play area is safe and really well laid out. If you are in the area it is well worth a visit. We live over an hour away but do make a beeline for Blackmarsh Farm when visiting. Staff are lovely too.

I love this little place that has a larger personality especially around the holidays, nice food, nice helpful staff, and full of friendlyness. It gets bigger and louder during the holidays and summer months when it opens the play area and the maize maze. Lovely for families and children. I have to say it pleases my heart to see this place set up for children's outside play, they certainly keep you on your toes, even when you are not part of that group or party, it has a little downside life everywhere when is busy hearing can be an issue even when sat face to face, so if you're expecting a wee cuppa or coffee or lunch in peace or relative quite here, you honestly won't know until you get there. It's just lovely hearing the children and youths being a play outside and not attached to their phones or computers.

I have recently taken over the duties as chairman of the Marnhull RBL and though I am not ex services I am very proud of what our club has achieved. Our charity fund raising is something that i am very proud of for both for the Poppy appeal and other selected charities, indeed with the energies of Tony our entertaiments commitee member we raised ÂŁ1000.00 for the St Margarets Hospice Yeovil in one night We have an active committe who promote the club with music most weekends fortnightly Bingo, Skittles,Darts and Pool league teams also Short Mat Bowls with other activities taking place. The club with it's excellent bar facilities and kitchens are available for private hire but excluding political organisations. As with all venues if they are not used they will disappear and we cannot let that happen to the Marnhul RBL, new members are made to feel very welcome to our very friendly club as is everyone

Dogs are also welcome, very friendly and helpful bar staff, you are made very welcome here. Charity events are also held here, and you can also hire for Weddings, Christenings, etc. There is an outside garden with seating.

Difficult place to find using Google maps, sent me down some very strange country tracks! But once I got there we were made to feel so welcome by Liz it was lovely. It's a very nice clean tidy hall, big dancefloor, nice bar. Plenty of parking. Had a great time with the music entertainment that night being Elvis56, then there was a raffle and a game of Play your cards right in the break, before Elvis did his 2nd set. Followed a friend hime via a much better and easier route back home. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Really good full English breakfast and nice seating outside. The farm shop inside has some nice stuff as well. Service was a little slow, but otherwise great.
Rating: 5 / 5
Detoured to have breakfast here! It's a working farm livestock being hear All around. The sun was shining so we ate outdoors and all around us tables were filling up. Food was delicious, and the homemade Greek yogurt stunning. Portions a little small so if you're hungry go for the big breakfast. Prices on the top end for breakfasts in farm shops & cafes but as a treat...go on!!

What a gem of a place! Excellent coffee (and I am a coffee snob) delicious good and a very welcoming and friendly team. Can only recommend if you are anywhere in the vicinity and itâs definitely worth a little detour :)
Rating: 4 / 5
Fantastic location for breakfast situated just off the A303. The food took quite a while to arrive but was well presented and tasted great. The poached eggs were perfectly runny, the halloumi provided texture and seasoning whilst the avocado created an even more creamy and indulgent affair. Parking is available on site and fresh eggs, vegetables and local produce are on sale.

First visit to the restaurant. I was very impressed with our server, who suggested we could move to the adjacent barn where it would be leas noisy. He was right. It wasđ. Food quality was excellent. Also, I was very impressed with the general cleanliness. Toilets were immaculate. I would definitely recommend this place. đ

Had the pleasure of visiting here last Sunday we arrived just after 10 and there were already quite a few people here. Offered seating inside or out, we ordered coffees which were very good and then I chose the homemade granola bowl which was absolutely delicious (it was also huge!) my husband chose the Mexican open flatbread which looked amazing, which he said was really good. Lovely friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Rating: 5 / 5
Amazing food, Amazing ambience and Great service. There was no waiting time, even though the place was filled on a Wednesday morning 10am. Great bunch of ppl running the place. The cowshed breakfast was a delight. The hash browns was one of the best i have tried in UK. Overall, it is highly recommended.

We had a baby shower for my sister at The Cow Shed in their Barn area on Saturday, and it was perfect - everything we had hoped for! The staff were so helpful, both in the lead-up to the event and on the actual day. The barn itself is really picturesque, which was perfect for photos. We opted for a cream tea with both sweet and savory scones, and it was lovely. We paid per head for drinks, which guests could get from the private bar as and when they wished. There was plenty of room for games ect too. We couldn't recommend it more. We had the most special afternoon celebrating our new arrival with family and friends. A big thank you to The Cow Shed Team đ€

As always, friendly, efficient and very welcoming. Comfortable sofas and easy chairs as well as tables and chairs for eating at. Some had been reserved in advance. Great decaf coffee (& lovely mince pies - thank you!) And the sun streaming through the conservatory roof - though cannot promise that every time!

Recommended by my friends cousins and wasn't disappointed. Great breakfast and coffee. Great views across the bays! Must be good as we left at 10 q was well out of the door!

I fly kites at Bowleeze Cove common ground, and the Lookout is right next to the field so it's very convenient. They provide great food with good sized portions and the freshly ground coffee is lovely especially on a cold day. Would recommend đ

Popped in for a quick bite to eat after visiting the Roman temple ruins. The cafe has the perfect location looking out over the bay, and has seating both inside and out. Staff were super friendly and even though it was fairly close to closing time they were incredibly accommodating. We had the seafood platter, and even though they did not have a lot of crab meat, they offered to make it up with another part of the platter instead. That being said, the platter had a great portion of each of the seafoods, and the salad was very good too. Personally I really enjoy radish in salads so glad to see it here. We also got a milkshake and a smoothie, the milkshake was a great refresher and my partner said she loved the smoothie. Finally we also had a couple of cakes to finish our lunch, I had a rocky road which was superb, and my partner had the largest slice of coffee and walnut cake, which of course I helped finish off. Definitely worth going for a nice meal with a view!

Best coffee for miles, in a county where itâs tricky to find a decent flat white. Coffee is advertised as âAussie styleâ. At least four types of hot chocolate, made properly. Dogs and kids welcomed. Nice staff. Outdoor and in-barn seating
Rating: 4 / 5
Nice place for a coffee stop and brunch. Fantastic ice cream milkshakes. Good flat white but was only slightly warm. Bit on the pricey side but overall a pleasant experience.
Rating: 4 / 5
Such a lovely cafe with the most friendly staff. Dogs are allowed and the Olympics was being shown on the TV. Our food was alright, but there wasnât a huge choice on the menu. It looks as though the weekends have a bigger variety for food if thatâs what youâre planning to come in for.

This is a nice little café near the university. It serves differents options to eat, different types of coffee and the decor and music in the background is good. I personally would use a different type of coffee but it's up to taste.
