The Radnor Arms

Great vibe from the decor and layout throughout into the beer garden - a feeling of quality and attention to detail. I appreciated the range of drinks - local beers and ciders sourced locally + wide selection of wines. I initially called in for a drink in the evening, and decided to stay for dinner ordering the ribeye steak, which was tasty. I returned the next morning to sample the brunch, choosing the smashed avocado with smoky bacon on sourdough, and a cappuccino. I found the service relaxed and welcoming from bar staff and table servers, who were also very attentive.

One of the best restaurants I ever had in the uk. The chef team have extreme well control on fire power. Excellent seasoning. And cozy vibe. Dog friendly. I am a chef as well, so it is a honest and genuine review.

I was staying in a nearby hotel and I popped in for a couple of pints. This place has a nice beer garden and I like the copper pumps behind the bar. The barman was friendly and I managed to try a couple of pints of Duddas Tun cider. Which I'd not seen before. I would recommend the Elderflower one. If you should ever happen to see this Paul, great recommendation.

We originally chose this pub, because we were looking for a dog friendly eaterie in the centre of Folkestone. We were pleasantly surprised by the stylish interior, with lots of gleaming copper, and the menu choices, which combine old favourites with unusual, like curried cauliflower tacos. The service was friendly and efficient. It all made for a very enjoyable lunch.

UNBELIEVABLE. We visited this evening for dinner and I couldn't hold back on leaving a review! Neil and the team in the kitchen satisfied taste buds that I didn't know existed - we tried multiple dishes and were not disappointed by a single bite. We ventured out of our usual comfort foods (bar my steak) and have left wanting more. We are definitely going to returning as soon as possible to try and complete the menu!

Lovely hidden gem of a cafe. Best toasted cheese and onion sandwich I've had in ages. Great value too. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and nice.

Great place to eat, reasonably priced for good home cooked food. Really large portions. So great value for money. Had a lovely roast lamb dinner. The service is brilliant, the owner is really hard working and has had the cafe since 1975, he is such a happy, helpful caring person. All staff are great and hardworking and always helpful. The atmosphere is great friendly and cosy atmosphere. Situated in the heart of Folkestone near the shops and near the old high street.

Classic ol' caf' 😄 super friendly staff and generous too. Free top ups of lemonade for the kids. On very hot day Ken even brought both kids over some ice-cream on the house. They really know how to take care of their customers whether you're known or new.

Called in on my dog walk at the tail end of a Friday. Had a refreshing glass of white wine and the small plate of white bait. Absolutely perfect. Wonderful end to the week and a cracking pub to wind down in. Highly recommend

I had a fantastic visit this afternoon! The pub had a great atmosphere and the restaurant upstairs had a lovely decor which nice big windows looking out to the harbour. Faith our waitress made us feel so welcome. The Fish was lovely and fresh and a great price too. Would definitely recommend and will visit again soon.

We sat in the garden, accidentally next to the bins initially, which meant there were a lot of flies. We moved to the middle to eat which was better, and had Harbour Fish Burgers. Whilst the food was very good, fresh fish and homemade tartare sauce and minted mushy peas, we did wait almost 50 minutes for the food to arrive, with no apology for the delay, and no warning when we ordered that it would be a wait. We weren't overly bothered, but others were clearly becoming agitated at waiting so long.

Loved this pub/restaurant I first went for a drink and then booked in for dinner. The bar has a fire which is cosy and service is quick. I had the pork belly bites as a snack. In the restaurant my partner had the skate wing which he loved, I had the mussels and as I can’t have diary or wheat the chef made me a special ratatouille type sauce which was as delicious. They had gluten free bread too which was good . Service in the restaurant is also good , the staff know the menus and are helpful. Will definitely be back.

Loaf

Rating: 4.4 (462) Price Level:

A Perfect Breakfast Spot for Dog Lovers We had the pleasure of visiting Loaf in Folkestone, and it exceeded all expectations. We had the Bacon Ciabatta and Bagel which was tasty, fresh peppermint tea with real leaves and the coffee was top-notch too, perfectly brewed and a great complement to the meal. What makes Loaf even more special is how dog-friendly it is. They welcome dogs with open arms, providing a cozy atmosphere where your furry friend feels just as valued as you do. It’s such a relief to find a spot where you can relax and enjoy a meal without worrying about leaving your dog behind. Another highlight is the location—just a short walk from the beach. It’s the perfect spot to refuel after a morning stroll along the coast. đŸ¶ Follow @onix.inthewildx on instagram - for more dog friendly adventures!

We had breakfast at Loaf on our way back to the ferry in Dover and the food and drinks were very good and tasty! At first my boyfriend was a bit disappointed that they don’t serve a full English Breakfast, but he LOVED his meal (and so did I). Best breakfast we had during our trip. Tip: when you order a meal that doesn’t include the potato salad, ask for it as an extra! It’s the best potato salad I ever had. The staff was very nice and welcoming and the toilets were clean. We absolutely recommend stopping here for food and drinks!

What a great little cafe in Sandgate. We popped in after walking the dogs for Sunday brunch. Very dog friendly. Small menu but delicious. We all opted for toasties and they were tasty but be warmed, they are big. They make a great selection of fresh smoothies. Value for money and highly recommend this place. ÂŁ42 for 4 adults.

Rocksalt Restaurant

4-5 Fish Market, Folkestone CT19 6AA, UK | Seafood Restaurant
P: 01303 212070

Rating: 4.4 (1722) Price Level:

We stopped by for some fish and chips. Top tip, it’s only available in the bar and not the restaurant downstairs. Overall our experience was positive with great food and location with friendly staff. It wasn’t 100% clear where the bathrooms were but they’ve named them the poop deck if you need them. In the bathrooms it was uncomfortably warm but in the bar it was a pleasant temperature. Fish was excellent and I particularly enjoyed the peas. Best fish and chips in Folkestone.

We had a birthday meal here for my wife and we were both very impressed indeed and both thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The seafood was delicate and delicious, the service from all the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially from Annabelle, who was vivacious, funny and very attentive. The setting and the view was top drawer. Prices were what you would expect from a quality restaurant but late evening set menu deal made it accessible for us for a special occasion. Excellent all round. Thank you Annabelle and Rocksalt.

Beautiful place to eat with very high quality food. The only downside is (if you’re sitting outside close to the boat docking area) that you always get the horrible smell of the old fishing boats coming to Dock. Maybe the restaurant should close the windows when this is happening as the smell is very intense and sickly. Prices are also very high, higher than most good London restaurants, so not great value for money, but the location/setting and food quality make it a must visit

The staff were very friendly and did their best to help us celebrate a special day.It has become our annual family tradition to all meet up for a festive menu, pre-Christmas meal as we can't all be together on Christmas day. The menu was lovely and there was a noticeable improvement from the last few years. We had an amazing time.
