Waller Electrical Services

Charles Dickens Lodge, Westfield Sole Rd, Boxley, Chatham, Maidstone ME14 3EH, UK | Electrician
P: 07939 345817

Rating: 4.7 (13) Price Level:

Best electrician around. Recommended via family, Jack and his team will be our point of contact moving forward for any electrical needs Jack has worked endless on our new home (from a new fuse box, to changing any light fixtures etc) and has a real touch for perfection and more importantly is completely transparent on what needs doing and doesn’t. I’ve been misquoted before via people in the trade and it’s refreshing to speak to someone transparent and honest. His work speaks for itself and highly recommend.

Waller Electrical were very efficient, clean and tidy on the job. Any small change to the agreed design wasn't an issue. Would use again, and would recommend.

Great communication all the way through, very prompt, thorough and did a really great job. Would definitely use Waller Electrical Services again for any electrical issues we have

Update 2024 December Had a roast lunch which was promptly ordered and served by polite very hard working staff. It was plentiful in size but could have been heated a little more evenly, this was £12 there was an OAP option for £10 which was smaller apparently. I though the cheese cake a bit expensive for its size £3.95. Update 2023 Staff were friendly and patient. We had a roast lunch each which was served very hot, portion size were just adequate. They were amazingly quick at delivering our meal after order.

A few years ago (different owners I believe), this place was not much to shout about. But now it's a regular breakfast venue for me and business colleagues. The service is always excellent, swift and welcoming. The coffee is very good and the food... well, we wouldn't go back if it wasn't great every time! Pictured is my beans on toast, which isn't actually on the menu but is never any trouble. My friend has the vege breakfast which he assures my is top notch.

We really enjoyed our experience today at Leah’s bistro. There’s a lot of choice on the menu, something for everyone, and everything is freshly made and cooked. We really enjoyed the food, it was delicious! Prices are really reasonable too - 2 adults, 2 kids - lunch (sandwich and panini, 2 x kids meals), drink and cake each, worked out at about £40. Definitely will come back. Staff are lovely as well, really friendly.

Had a fantastic experience here. The food was great and of good quality. Portions were more than generous and especially for a kids roast. The atmosphere was very unexpected with someone playing the piano by the entrance. People working there were all very fun and bubbly to be around and engaged with the kids too.

The Yeoman

139 Ashford Rd, Bearsted, Maidstone ME14 4BT, UK | Mediterranean Restaurant
P: 01622 290396

Rating: 4.6 (257) Price Level:

We went there after doing the lights trail at Leeds Castle. We were seated very quickly after arriving even though we didn't have a booking. The service was generally good but we had to wave a few times to get our water jug replenished. The food portions were good and all the dishes were tasty. My son had the scallops as a starter. I thought they could have used a little more colour. I wanted the seabream but unfortunately they had run out so went for the prawns instead as a main. Very tasty 😋. My son had the fish stew main which was given the thumbs up. It was served with flat breads, which though lovely, I would personally prefer a more crusty bread. My other half had the moussaka, which he enjoyed. He had it with the side salad. For dessert my son tried the baklava. Too sweet for me, but a generous portion. My one disappointment with this place is the kids menu. It has 3 items only, all meat based. It's £10 but doesn't include a drink or dessert like a lot of kids menus tend to so if your kid is vegetarian or doesn't like bolognaise or Chicken skewers then I'm not sure what your options are. My daughter had the skewers. She loved the chips but as the skewers have a lemon based marinade she wasn't so thrilled about that and didn't finish them. It wasn't a cheap evening but the food was tasty and the portions sufficient, however I would consider a venue with more to offer for kids.

I would give it 10 stars or a Michelin star if i could. The food is that good. EVERYTHING tastes amazing. We had the chicken livers, prawns and scallops to start, which were well seasoned and beautifully presented. The scallops were garnished with samphire and pistachio nuts, which was a surprisingly amazing touch and added so much flavour. The best scallops I've ever tasted. For Mains, we both enjoyed the cod...on a bed of well-seasoned mash and lobster sauce. Again, it was beautifully presented and tasted out of this world. The service was IMPECCABLE. We had a new starter waitress, who was on her first evening, and she was so attentive and friendly. The manager is amazing too. He beams pride in his restaurant and is so friendly and welcoming. All the staff just seem to enjoy their jobs and were all just as accommodating. This is now my absolute favourite restaurant. They're going to get sick of seeing my face, I'm going to be there so often!!

Gave this restaurant a try for the first time and was very impressed. Varied menu with all dishes cooked to a high standard. Large portions, so you will definitely come away full. Outside doesn't look very impressive but a comfortable and spacious seating area inside. Our children also enjoyed their meals. Easy parking next to The Yeoman which has it's own spaces but also free 3 hour Village car park.

We took my mum to Yeoman for a belated birthday lunch. Vini the Manager made us feel so welcome as soon as we entered the restaurant. Our order was taken by Kelly. She was lovely and friendly and so polite. The food was exquisite!!!. Beautifully presented, and so delicious. We were so looked after. The best meal we have had out in a very long time. Such a varied menu. We will be going back again and again. Thank you Vini and Kelly for making us feel so welcome. If we could give you 20 stars we would. Natalie, Craig and Georgia. Xx♥️💗❤️

We have eaten here a few times and has always been very good. This visit was a Sunday lunch for nine people outside, and although most of the food was of good quality as usual and the staff very pleasant. Those of us that had the garlic lamb were disappointed as the meat was tough and bland. Three knives had to be returned as they were rusty and dirty and a glass had a crack in it. We were disappointed this time but will definitely return. It's a lovely old pub, and up until now the food and service has been excellent.

Chilston Park Hotel

Boughton Rd, Sandway, Maidstone ME17 2BE, UK | Hotel
P: 01622 859803

Rating: 4.6 (1023) Price Level:

Unfortunately we only stayed for the one night. The staff were second to none, nothing was too much trouble, very chatty, excellent comfy rooms, and the food!!! Having spent many years in the catering industry, I like to think of myself of a bit of a connoisseur and I’m not easily ‘blown away’, dined at some of the best restaurants in the country and this dinner surpassed them. I really can’t remember a better meal, fine cuisine but all components were a perfect fit for the dishes and not just there to make the food sound as fancy as possible. Met the head chef and he insisted that the head chef at one of the chain’s sister hotels was even better than him! No way! Take a bow chefs at the Chilston.

My wife and I attended an 80th birthday party for my father in-law.The event was mainly planned by Becky. My sister in law was able to access the rooms beforehand to decorate and Becky kindly assisted which she was very grateful for. The room looked amazing but it was also the amazing service provided by herself and all the other staff at the hotel. The service was wonderful. kiera and Becky looked after us making us all feel at home. There are too many names to mention they were excellent.Thank you for making it such a special day.

For an Xmas treat I took my girlfriend & my parents (50th wedding anniversary celebration) to Chilston Manor to stay in feature rooms (Regency & Hogarth) along with an evening meal. I have to say the whole experience was above and beyond what we were xpecting. Everything from the welcome to the cocktails, food to the walk around the grounds was exceptional. Thankyou to you all for making our stay just seem magical, it was a time that will live long in my memory. We laughed, ate, drank and discussed to the early morning and then some. Just simply amazing.

A wonderful time staying here for the night. It was reasonably priced which meant the experience could go either way (good or bad) after reading the reviews I decided to book and very unusually the great reviews were right….the staff here absolutely make the place. The gentleman on checking couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The standout here however is the bar/restaurant which although pricey is outstanding….many restaurants these days promise fine dining and forget that includes the service as well. Matt in the restaurant deserves a shout out of his own, his attention to detail while serving was impeccable. Service with style. The grounds in the hotel are jaw dropping….our visit was winter with a howling gale outside (which did make the hotel feel more cosy) but during summer I’m guessing this hotel is absolutely beautiful with grounds to stroll around. Rooms are very nice if slightly dated….(that’s my only criticism) for me the rest of the hotel well and truly made up for this. Oh and the fast WiFi worked everywhere….why do so many hotels drop this now vital ball? I will stay here for business trips now too.

Lovely little cafe that we happened to drive past as a pit stop. Cheese sandwich served with crisps and salad for £4:20 was great and exactly what a hungry child needed. Iced coffee was perfect and would order again whilst the Oat latte was also very nice. Ordered the carrot cake too which was home made, very moist and everything you would want in a cake. Plenty of locals swinging by, but I would visit again in a heartbeat

Just had 3 really, really, enjoyable nights at the BHI. Wonderful location, went on two lovely runs in the area directly on to the North Downs Way. Rooms were fine, great bath and shower, plenty of space. Lovely food, dinner and breakfast were great, in a wonderful atmospheric pub. (Amazing mushrooms at breakfast!) Lovely staff across the board , helpful, friendly, welcoming from reception, to the owner, to the cat, to the wait staff - all lovely. My one, single improvement point would be to have fresh coffee for breakfast over instant. Would absolutely come back - thank you for a lovely friendly stay.

Had a new years eve meal with my family. Location was lovely, hostess was very attentive, atmosphere was friendly, surroundings were quaint. The only thing that spoilt it was the onion rings were so so salty. Didn't think to ask for unsalted as its never happened anywhere else before and it wasn't mentioned on the menu. Maybe they were salted twice by mistake. Such a shame as they were real onions in super crunchy batter.

I have been staying at the Black Horse a lot in the past few months because it's a brilliant establishment. Firstly the Black Horse Inn is a beautiful pub. It has great food, friendly staff and lovely aesthetics. Secondly, the hotel is unique, always clean and priced fairly. The reception staff are always really friendly and make you feel so welcome. Highly recommend this place if you're staying in the local area or fancy going out somewhere for a nice dinner!

We just spent NYE at The Black Horse and had a wonderful time. Every single member of staff was friendly, and always smiling. We had a meal in the loft and saw the new year in downstairs in the bar where there was a lovely atmosphere. Our room was perfect. Spacious, spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. There was even a miniature Christmas tree complete with lights on one of the bedside tables. Fluffy white towels and a very comfortable bed. To add to the above, it's a very dog-friendly place. We didn't bring our pooch this time, but our friends had theirs and he was made to feel very welcome. Lots of free parking too, and really great for a celebration with on site accommodation. Would love to visit in the summer when not quite so wet and windy! Mother Nature's issue, not the venue's! We will definitely return and recommend!

The pub and rooms were all great. The staff friendly and attentive. We had some lovely food. Our room was one of the newer additions. It was roomy and decorated to a high standard. We was in billecart. The only thing missing was a magnified mirror, which I know is in some of the other rooms. The hotel itself is in a peaceful, quiet location with nothing around so if you wanted to go out, then there was nothing to really wall to. We enjoyed our stay and if you have good weather the outside space is where you want to be!!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here to celebrate his birthday. We stayed in the Dom Suite and had the most amazing time. The room was unreal, so much detail and so spacious. The hot tub in the room was gorgeous and the hot tub outside was just perfect. Everything was so cozy, quiet and peaceful. We ordered room service and the food was 10/10. I had separately booked for the room to be decorated through “Party with Mrs P” on Instagram and we were so so happy with the decorations. We will definitely be staying here again and will 100% recommend PartyWithMrsP to my friends and family.

We have stayed here many times, in a few different rooms but we must say the Lodge is a personal favourite, as it is extra private and further away from the other rooms If you’re lucky you’ll see the rabbits running along the field from the outdoor hot tub OR the indoor spa bath! The food here is AMAZING as well, we always go for steak (sometimes lobster too) and breakfast and a bottle of champagne is included in every stay! There are lots of options at breakfast as well as the food is all locally sourced which we appreciate! The location is far out of the way which we like but you do have to drive through country lanes to get here but it is 100% worth it!
