Went for breakfast and the food was really good and a step up from just bacon and eggs. It was cold in there though so didn't feel you could relax. I was a bit disappointed as last time I went they had amazing custard donuts and sausage rolls etc that stood out but the bakery offering seemed quite run of the mill this time.

Oxford Bakery is located in the center of Sturminster Newton. My wife and I had breakfast here while visiting from America. The staff was very friendly! We had a jam doughnut, a cinnamon roll, and a mocha latte. Everything was delicious (especially the doughnut)! We would certainly return.

Delightful bakery offering lovely cakes and marvelously smelling pies and sausage rolls. Great coffee. Sat in the window seats to enjoy our choices while a stream of locals came in to buy takeaway or eat-in food. We were only passing through, but this stop cemented the town as a worthwhile place to remember for any future trips.

Excellent flat white, the cinnamon rolls were amazing, and the sourdough bread looked so good we bought a loaf to take home (let's see if it makes it back in one piece).

An amazing maize, maze one of the best around. What a pity it's the final maze this year. A wonderful attraction for all the family with all the usual facilities including a superb little cafe. Play area for younger children and very reasonably priced. Staff extremely friendly and helpful adding to the experience. The maze is open all summer until early September so get in there quickly for a brilliant day out!

Good location on the edge of Sherborne to let the kids run and play while you sit comfortably in the old farm yard with a cake and coffee or maybe a light lunch.

I love this little place that has a larger personality especially around the holidays, nice food, nice helpful staff, and full of friendlyness. It gets bigger and louder during the holidays and summer months when it opens the play area and the maize maze. Lovely for families and children. I have to say it pleases my heart to see this place set up for children's outside play, they certainly keep you on your toes, even when you are not part of that group or party, it has a little downside life everywhere when is busy hearing can be an issue even when sat face to face, so if you're expecting a wee cuppa or coffee or lunch in peace or relative quite here, you honestly won't know until you get there. It's just lovely hearing the children and youths being a play outside and not attached to their phones or computers.

Went with my sister ( a local ) and daughter and granddaughter. Food was really lovely. Highly reccomend the quiche. The play area is safe and really well laid out. If you are in the area it is well worth a visit. We live over an hour away but do make a beeline for Blackmarsh Farm when visiting. Staff are lovely too.

The cafe is named for its proximity to the former homes of Thomas Hardy and William Barnes among others and its current poet in Residence David Caddy. Excellent location for this quaint historical pub nestled in the Blackmore Vale. Inviting interior with multiple fireplaces and cozy snug. Chess nights, darts, billiards and skittle alley all offered for those looking to game. Excellent rotation of quality beers on tap, plus bottles beer also. Generous selection of all other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. What makes this place is there beautiful beer garden with wooden furniture and unbelievable sunsets. Went here for lunch after looking round the shop downstairs. I ordered an oat milk coffee with my lunch and I was asked if it was because of an allergy so good to see the staff were on the ball. The food was lovely. But my biggest praise goes to the staff who were all young, they were very polite cheerful and very attentive

We sat outside in the garden on Sunday.I ate the Tavern stack which was all home made ,absolutely Delicious. My wife had Home made Vegetable Lasagne which was also Terrific .For pudding I had a piece of Tiffen with cream which was also to die for.All of which was expertly cooked and reasonably priced.The Service is incredible at all times even though they were short staffed at the time. We had no long waiting time as I expected because of the short staff problem.The Bull Tavern is a Family Run pub and other larger concerns could learn a lot from them.Welk Done Bull Tavern .The very next day we tried 1 of their charcuterie boards ,very very good.Also fantastic value for money

This is a classic country pub. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available. As a Hall and Woodhouse owned pub, the real ales are great and served in good condition. The staff are just wonderful and make the visit that all more special. The venue is cosy in the winter with numerous fire places to keep you warm.

Visited this pub on Saturday evening. We were going for a meal and to watch the England rugby game. A quick call to the landlady before and she happily agreed to open a little early so we could watch the afternoon game too! We enjoyed a wonderfully warm reception, great atmosphere and a delicious burger and chips. Fabulous.

Gorgeous pub with fantastic beer and amazing landlords. They host fantastic events including live music and are a great asset to the Stourton Caundle community. I'm a toothless dragon, called Ian who isn't the bravest when it comes to visiting the dentist. I have to say that I've never felt so at ease before. also as i sat in the dentist chair. Beautiful location. Staff were efficient friendly and helpful. Rooms were great everything worked as it should. The building is quite old so if your looking for chic this isn't it. The rooms were comfortable and warm with quality mattress and bed linen. Foid here was good and the service was great. Everyone was friendly. The area is pretty. The Swan is somewhere I would definitely go to again
