Lincoln Arboretum Cafe

Monks Rd, Lincoln LN2 5HU, UK | Cafe
P: 01522 801556

Rating: 4.7 (71) Price Level:

After hearing good things about the arboretum cafe we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did. It was a surprise on just how good it was. The food is fantastic and the prices are very good too. Full breakfast and coffee for under a fiver. Everything is made fresh and you can customise to your liking. Poached eggs, fried bread no problem. The quality of the food is very high and I wouldn't be disappointed if I had paid double. I would like to say thank you to Tony for the service, very happy and helpful. This cafe would be great for 121 business meetings or meeting new clients.

Great welcome & service by all those learning the trade, from taking food & drink orders, payment preparation & cooking of food, serving on this occasion a HUGE jacket potato, full to the brim of vegetarian chilli 'n cheese, salad & coleslaw! When asked by a friendly waiter "If everything was OK"? Full to brim & grinning, i said "the proof is on the plate, i've literally cleaned up thank you, it was d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s" 😋 & off I went for a brisk walk around Lincoln's fabulous Arboretum

Yes the food here is great. Kelsey served me she was lovely. As in really nice. It’s a training cafe but don’t be afraid, they are really good and looked after myself and my guest really well. I am proud to support that place and will definitely return and very soon. I have also heard the afternoon teas are exceptional. I wasn’t sure about ordering poached eggs because they are tricky but Kelsey assured me they can do them and they were great. The tea was in a non leaking teapot and the coffee was brilliant. Very happy. Thank you everyone

It is a practice establishment so very seldom you deal with some young uptight servers with no sense of humour. But overall very nice food. Just struggling to find a parking spot.

We booked our visit for afternoon coffee & cake. A limited number of seats adds to the appeal at this intimate cafe. The cats were lovely & had a whole arsenal of toys, climbing frames & bridges amongst many other things. It's nicely laid out & really is all about the cats. We enjoyed our time here & would say it's definitely worth a try.

Great atmosphere, beautiful cats. Very quirky place. The owner was friendly and told us about all the cats and what their favourite toy was to interact with them. We had so much fun playing with them all. Tea and cake was nice too. Will defo be going again.

A true cat haven. As a cat parent, I know how important it is to make sure your cats rule the place, and this was exactly the cafe's vibe. The cats are friendly and aren't stressed by the presence of strange humans. Had some good laughs playing with some of them and seeing one of the calicos become a basket cat! Loved the decor, the drinks and food and our host was very lovely, introducing us to the cats and teaching us tips and tricks on how some of them like to play. We had an amazing time, thank you!

No complaints! Went for my birthday today. Never been to a cat cafe before, but reminded me of restaurants where stray cats are allowed to roam. Absolutely loved every moment of it. Cats were so friendly, and allowed me and my family to pet them within about 20 minutes of meeting. Clearly spoiled rotten, and staff interacted with the cats with us. Would recommend for a nice outing with friends or family.

Love this little gem. Perfect place for sitting outside and watching the world go by. The Coffee blend is amazing with plenty of syrups to choose from (coconut latte a personal fav) Reasonably priced and a great bacon roll! Dog Friendly inside and out and puppuccinoson request. You'll struggle to get a seat on a sunny day but that speaks volumes! We love to come here as part of our weekend walks and even more so since the owners have a puppy!!!

Lovely little cafe just next to The Arch in Lincoln. I had a lovely little brie and cranberry toastie, accompanied by a cappuccino, both delicious. The outdoor seating area was nice too. Busy, but not so busy that they were rushed off their feet. The staff were very friendly and handled the business well. Kudos to the place, I shall return on my next historical jaunt to Lincoln.

Great location in Lincoln overlooking the castle walls down a small alley, outside seating available and dog friendly too. The food was reasonably priced and good quality, staff were friendly and the food came out really quickly. I had the bacon and Brie panini while my wife and daughter had jacket potatoes with coronation chicken and tuna mayo, we also ordered some chocolate cake which was delicious. Great little find in the heart of Lincoln.

It was a lovely break from Christmas shopping, although they have VERY steep stairs to navigate if you've got achy feet and lots of bags. The staff are lovely and made a great coffee recommendation 💕 . The outside doesn't look great, and I nearly walked on by, but it's certainly worth it!

I recently visited Lincoln from the USA. Before my trip I did a bit of reading up on the local coffee houses and marked a few as "must visit." Oddly, a not-so-flattering review of Coffee Aroma is what made me decide I *must* visit. The reviewer sounded entitled, self-centered and unctuous...they had no problem with the coffee, the service or the ambiance. Apparently, they didn't like the music and kept turning it off so they could listen to their own. Anyone who has the audacity to walk into someone's place of business (or home!) and think it's OK to take control of the playlist or mess with the sound equipment shouldn't be allowed out in public. I found the music at Coffee Aroma to be absolutely perfect. As was the coffee, the tea, the hot chocolate, and all the cakes, croissants and toasties I consumed over the course of two weeks while I was in town. My only regret was not asking if the playlist is available on Spotify (if it's not, please consider it!) I will definitely be coming back--every day-- when I'm back in Lincoln this summer. I will miss not coming here every day!

Rating: 4.3 (237) Price Level:

Drawn in by the positive reviews, we were delighted with the (vegan) options. Service was brisk, by very professional and friendly staff and the food was nicely presented. The vegan spinach and falafel burger was generous and tasty; the soup thick and hearty. A great experience of a well-run cafe and we’ll certainly be back. Hopefully some of the vegan options make it into the year-round menu!

Tried it for the first time, absolutely lovely! Had the french toast with bacon, scrambled eggs & maple syrup - super good. Dad loved his full english and said the black pudding was fantastic. Coffee is on the weaker side but still perfectly enjoyable. Very lovely ambience with outdoor seating, right outside of the majestic cathedral. You can also order & pay from your phone at the table which is very convenient (regular ordering and payment available). Prices in line with any other breakfast place in the area

I went with my parents for a belated wedding anniversary, coffee & and cake. Salmon for me. Starting with my food. I found it very good, everything was cooked how I liked. I had the Salmon Salad. My mother had the banana and walnut cake, and my father had the carrot cake. From what they told me. Apparently, the Carrot Cake didn't really taste like Carrot Cake and after trying both. They tasted very similar, could be due to the method of how they make it. As for the atmosphere. If you come when quite it would be lovely, but even once a few tables are filled it can get very loud and clanky, need some sound proofing or something. Overall, it was not too bad, as I said my food was very nice. It was a shame the cake wasn't that good.

Today we visited Stokes High Bridge Café for a Birthday Breakfast. The service was fantastic by the waitress whose name we can’t remember. Very polite and professional. The breakfast wasn’t amazing but I would say it filled a hole. Slightly dry and the sausages could’ve been cooked a bit longer for me personally. All in all we had a lovely morning at Stokes High Bridge Café.

The food was delicious, loved the truffles, very tasty.

I had the ravioli with garlic bread and a glass of red wine. The wine smelt of vinegar and was exchanged. I had a better wine for about £2 extra, but I didn't have to pay the extra. The garlic bread and ravioli were good, but I wasn't impressed with the portion sizes. All in all, a vibrant atmosphere, but I don't think it was worth £25.05.

A Cosy Experience with Perfect Service and Delicious Food 🍽️✨ Cosy Club was by far the best restaurant we visited during our trip to Lincoln, earning the maximum number of stars from us. While strolling through the town center, we were drawn in by the beautiful building with its high ceilings, and it didn’t take long before we decided this would be our Saturday dining spot. Later, I researched vegan-friendly restaurants in Lincoln, and Cosy Club was listed as the top choice—no surprise there! The food was exceptional, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with happy guests all around. But what really made our experience stand out was the staff. Our waiter made a minor mistake by seating us at the wrong table, but quickly corrected it and, as a gesture of goodwill, offered us free drinks. Later, my girlfriend’s dish arrived with the wrong type of pasta. The waiter was incredibly apologetic and, once again, went above and beyond by offering her meal for free. My daughter jokingly said, "If they keep this up, they’ll lose all their money and have to close down!" However, I strongly believe the opposite. I believe that as long as Cosy Club continues to deliver such excellent service, delicious food, and a great atmosphere, their customers will keep returning. We’ll definitely be back!
