Love this place so much. I have eaten here many times with my wife but i was fortunate to also photograph a wedding there just before xmas. It was perfect for a wedding - the decor is unique, quirky and compelling - there was so much i could do photo wise. The food is always always excellent and whether you are eating as a couple or celebrating a wedding you will not be disappointed.

It’s great. I have an issue with our rural lunch spots limiting themselves to panini’s, jacket potatoes and maybe a sausage roll so eating here is a breath of fresh air. The menu consists of (but not limited to); a kind of Vegan bliss bowl, venison cottage pie, awesomely large quiche (which most diners seemed to reach for that particular day) and the obligatory over priced burger, which was very good. So I took the burger which came with chunky chips seasoned to perfection and a very good homemade coleslaw. Yes at £13 quid it’s on the expensive side, you could eat a five guys, or even the Ivy for a similar price but it’s not a bad burger and the patty was great so I got over it. Other dishes were very reasonably priced in my opinion, I tried the venison which was cooked very well, as was the large quiche which was peppered in veg as well to really a meal out of it. Last item our group ate was the risotto balls (arancini) which really was top drawer with its xo sauce. I can’t stress how good the risotto balls are. If I really had to criticise the menu one vegan option in today’s world is not really fair but that’s digging deep to criticise. So yeah, eat here. I’ll be very surprised if you walk out disappointed. It’s very nicely decorated, Staff are friendly, the head chef made a point of sticking her head out as we left to say thanks. All these things make for a very pleasant experience.

The Yeoman

139 Ashford Rd, Bearsted, Maidstone ME14 4BT, UK | Mediterranean Restaurant
P: 01622 290396

Rating: 4.6 (257) Price Level:

Gave this restaurant a try for the first time and was very impressed. Varied menu with all dishes cooked to a high standard. Large portions, so you will definitely come away full. Outside doesn't look very impressive but a comfortable and spacious seating area inside. Our children also enjoyed their meals. Easy parking next to The Yeoman which has it's own spaces but also free 3 hour Village car park.

We took my mum to Yeoman for a belated birthday lunch. Vini the Manager made us feel so welcome as soon as we entered the restaurant. Our order was taken by Kelly. She was lovely and friendly and so polite. The food was exquisite!!!. Beautifully presented, and so delicious. We were so looked after. The best meal we have had out in a very long time. Such a varied menu. We will be going back again and again. Thank you Vini and Kelly for making us feel so welcome. If we could give you 20 stars we would. Natalie, Craig and Georgia. Xx♥️💗❤️

We went there after doing the lights trail at Leeds Castle. We were seated very quickly after arriving even though we didn't have a booking. The service was generally good but we had to wave a few times to get our water jug replenished. The food portions were good and all the dishes were tasty. My son had the scallops as a starter. I thought they could have used a little more colour. I wanted the seabream but unfortunately they had run out so went for the prawns instead as a main. Very tasty 😋. My son had the fish stew main which was given the thumbs up. It was served with flat breads, which though lovely, I would personally prefer a more crusty bread. My other half had the moussaka, which he enjoyed. He had it with the side salad. For dessert my son tried the baklava. Too sweet for me, but a generous portion. My one disappointment with this place is the kids menu. It has 3 items only, all meat based. It's £10 but doesn't include a drink or dessert like a lot of kids menus tend to so if your kid is vegetarian or doesn't like bolognaise or Chicken skewers then I'm not sure what your options are. My daughter had the skewers. She loved the chips but as the skewers have a lemon based marinade she wasn't so thrilled about that and didn't finish them. It wasn't a cheap evening but the food was tasty and the portions sufficient, however I would consider a venue with more to offer for kids.

I would give it 10 stars or a Michelin star if i could. The food is that good. EVERYTHING tastes amazing. We had the chicken livers, prawns and scallops to start, which were well seasoned and beautifully presented. The scallops were garnished with samphire and pistachio nuts, which was a surprisingly amazing touch and added so much flavour. The best scallops I've ever tasted. For Mains, we both enjoyed the cod...on a bed of well-seasoned mash and lobster sauce. Again, it was beautifully presented and tasted out of this world. The service was IMPECCABLE. We had a new starter waitress, who was on her first evening, and she was so attentive and friendly. The manager is amazing too. He beams pride in his restaurant and is so friendly and welcoming. All the staff just seem to enjoy their jobs and were all just as accommodating. This is now my absolute favourite restaurant. They're going to get sick of seeing my face, I'm going to be there so often!!

Rating: 4.5 (182) Price Level:

We had our small intimate wedding at Frasers. My husband & I could not have asked for a more perfect setting for our special day. Jo and her team were exceptional in all that they did. I booked the absolutely stunning Pond cottage for the night before with my sisters. It was the perfect place to stay and prepare for becoming a bride:). From the moment we arrived we were taken care of. Thank you Jim (the chef ) for cooking a wonderful evening meal and serving us :). Thank you Jo, & your team. You are wonderful and looked after us, ensuring every fine detail of our stay and wedding was absolutely perfect. We choose to have our intimate ceremony in the gardens, this was followed by an absolutely delicious afternoon tea for our 30 guests in the most stunning barn resturant and a wonderfully relaxing several hours in a private garden with outside bar with family. We couldnt have asked for a better day & setting for our wedding. Thank you everyone for making our day absolutely perfect. Love Jim & Trish

We went for the festive afternoon tea and it was the best we've ever had. The food was amazing and worth the price. The staff were really friendly and in a lovely setting - you can see why they win all the awards they do. Our only small grumble is the driveway - I've never seen so many potholes! But well worth the bumpy journey to get there.

My Husband and I 😁 got married recently, in a small intimate ceremony with just our immediate family. From the first meeting Lisa completely got what we wanted and along with Jo, Ben and the rest of the team they created the most PERFECT day. We got married on the Stags barn lawn with a beautiful countryside back drop, the food and drinks that followed were incredible and every person who attended commented on how amazing it was. I have always loved Frasers and on the multiple occasions we have stayed or eaten, it has never disappointed. I cannot recommend Frasers enough!

Lovely experience enjoying an afternoon tea with a glass of bubbles! Really good service and excellent food, some of the best we have had. The gluten-free request for one of us was no problem and of exceptional quality, especially the scones, which are challenging to get right, but these were great. We really enjoyed ourselves.

A far cry from a truckers café, this local coffee house offers a cosy seating area with a modest menu. The interior is well decorated. There is a standard selection of hot items with a range of cakes that also cater to vegan requirements. Parking is easily found on the road, or it's a walk away for local residents who tend to come here and socialise in small groups. Prices are what you would expect.

We all had a lovely afternoon tea at Baskervilles Coffee House. The traditional tea had a good selection of savoury and sweet treats. The child's tea also had a good selection, having changed the sandwich fillings to known favourites. Our dog certainly enjoyed her afternoon tea too and it was great to be able to give her something designed for her instead of snuffling our sausage rolls. The staff were really happy, polite and chatty. This is a wonderful little coffee shop and a great place to visit if you want to sit with your dog.

The Bow Window Cafe

The Square, Lenham, Maidstone ME17 2PG, UK | Cafe
P: 01622 850802

Rating: 4.6 (353) Price Level:

I was really impressed with our visit to the The Bow Window Cafe in Lenham. We popped in on a midweek lunch time, it was really busy and deservedly so. All the staff are really helpful and friendly, they try hard to accommodate everyone and their individual needs. The website says they are dog friendly and it's true, my dog even got a little treat. I thought the price was good value for the quantity of food that you got. The hot chocolate tasted really nice and chocolatey, they also made it with an alternative milk for me. My toasted sandwich was so delicious and filling, the brie was nice and gooey. I have to mention the toilets which were super clean despite the amount of people using them. I think I'd try and book when I go again, just to guarantee that I can eat there. It's situated right near Lenham Square car park but watch the 2 hour limit for parking.

The layout of the various little rooms and snugs - with cosy mismatched furniture - make this place incredibly cute and cosy in the heart of Lenham. The Americano was nice, and the hot chocolate clearly a big hit when pimped out with marshmallows. Staff were very friendly and it was a lovely place to pass an hour and warm up.

Rating: 4.6 (9) Price Level:

Evan from D.J. Electrical in Maidstone came to put a fan into my kitchen today in preparation for cavity wall insulation and to meet the requisite building regulations. His work was speedy and to a very good standard and he was courteous, professional and friendly. He cleaned up well after his cutting and chasing into the wall and was overall very tidy. I would have no problems using this company again for electrical work.

I am a small business owner I need need of full electric works done. Paul from D J Adams worked in my shop and installed new DC Immune, commercial fuse unit, linked several power sockets to DC Immune for protection on my equipment, did amazing lighting's and metal conduit sockets. The best part of it is the advise and thinking of better ways to help you. They were very reasonable and only phone call away. I truly recommend them. It is very hard to find honest and knowledgeable electrician who takes pride on there work. Thank you for work well done.

AJ Electrical

Chart Hill Rd, Maidstone TN12 0DE, UK | Electrician
P: 07921 364546

Rating: 4.6 (9) Price Level:

Adam is a fantastic electrician and I have used him many times. We recently needed some extractor fans installed in our bathroom and also in our en-suite shower room. Both rooms previously were not getting enough ventilation. Adam arrived at our house early and did both jobs very efficiently. He installed two extremely powerful extractor fans and the ventilation and air quality is now much better in both rooms. On another occasion he installed a new electric hob and electric cooker replacing our old gas one. Adam did all the electrical wiring necessary in our kitchen after changing over from gas and it all works perfectly. I have had a lot of electricians over the years and this guy really is the best.

Adam is proficient and efficient. He knows his stuff (must be 12 years experience now) and gets on with the job at most costs eg, weather is not a hold-back. I'll have to trawl through some photos and edit this review to add some but be assured the job will be completed to a high grade.

Adam has worked for me before and this time it was at my sister's house. He installed an external outside socket for a new pond pump and the more difficult job of concreting in a Victorian cast iron lamp post, wiring it in to the mains and rewiring it. It has been removed from my late parent's house but was last rewired in the 1970s. It is now wirelessly operated from a mobile as well as a manual kinetic switch. This was a difficult job due to the lampost's considerable weight and required help from two team members as well as a winch. As before Adam's work was first class. He and his team members were friendly, efficient, courteous and prompt. I would definitely recommend Adam for electrical work and particularly unusual external jobs as well a=s whole house rewirings and new consumer units.

We first met Adam about 5 years ago when he rewired an outside awning for us. Since then he has done a couple of jobs for us, the most recent being to change our light switches around the house, and putting a new double socket in our lounge for a new in the wall fire we are buying. With all these jobs, he has been very professional, providing quotes quickly and carrying out the work on time, and in a tidy and efficient manner. We have no hesitation in recommending him. Well done. 👍

Castle View Restaurant at Leeds Castle

Leeds Castle, Broomfield, Maidstone ME17 1PL, UK | Restaurant
P: 01622 767819

Rating: 4.2 (580) Price Level:

Our son decided to treat us to a new restaurant venue for our wedding anniversary. We were delighted he had chosen this establishment. It was a lovely setting, just outside the Leeds Castle grounds in Kent. On this day, it wasn't particularly busy, so we had a reasonably quiet setting with a magnificent view of the castle from the terrace. The service here was exemplary. The staff were very attentive. We were able to choose from the evening menu, and this was bought out in virtually no time at all. My son had the battered fish, my wife, the beefburger, and I the 8oz Ribeye steak. All were very well presented. I have given 4 stars because I wanted a medium cooked steak and received medium rare. Also, the chips I received had quite a few bits of batter in them. This suggests that either they've used the same vat to cook the fish and chips. Or, they stored the chips in the same area/tray as the fish. This did not though spoil the meal. Hats to the pastry chef!! The deserts were absolutely gorgeous. No complaints there. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The service is impeccable. I would definitely recommend it. You will need to book, as this requires a gated entry at most times of the day.

I went to Castle View Restaurant with my mother for lunch last Tuesday, and we had such a fantastic experience. For Lunch, I had a jacket potato with baked beans, but I asked to not have the side of dressed leaves as I don't like salad dressing at all and the waitress completely understood, which was great. My mother ordered a jacket potato also but with cheese and coleslaw and side salad, and both our dishes arrived at our table in precisely six minutes; I've never been served so fast at any other restaurant before. My jacket potato was really tasty and because I had no side salad, i got extra baked beans! I would like to thank all the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant for being so efficient and serving our food so well with a smile on their faces.

Lovely food with an amazing view of the castle. Apparently they had a new menu, we had crab pate and the mackerel which were both lovely and amazingly presented, mains we had confit duck which was delicious. Wish there was just a bit of green on the plate but other than that can't moan as it was all cooked perfectly and the flavours were amazing!

I had a solo meal while staying for the evening. Staff were friendly and welcoming, attentive and professional. I didn't have to wait for service, the whole team worked well together and everything flowed perfectly. The duck was cooked to perfection and the lemon tart was the best I've tasted in a long while. The ambiance and dining room itself was well laid out. I will be booking to go back again.
