The whole experience from the initial call for help, right up until bidding him farewell was exceptional, prompt and very reasonably priced. The man (i forget his name) traced and found the fault with ease with his obvious wealth of experience and knowledge. would 100% recommend TFS and i will definitely be retaining their number for any future electrical work.

The Wishful Thinker

P: 01622 232272

Rating: 4.5 (302) Price Level:

Took my mum here from her care home to celebrate her 82nd birthday. I had a gift voucher due to an awful service experience at another Elite Pubs location. The server we had (Oscar) couldn't have been more attentive and lovely and he really should be training the staff at the other venue! Thank you so much Oscar for making my mum feel special on her birthday. You really went the extra mile and it made me emotional to see her so happy.

I stay here regularly whenever Iā€™m working away in Kent, probably a dozen or so times in the last couple of years. The rooms are spacious with good size desks, offering plenty of room for Teams calls etc. The food is great, so rare to be able to buy a vegetable when working away and I really appreciate the seasonal variety. Location is convenient, easily accessible by car or a 10 min brisk walk from Lenham station, direct line from Victoria. Lots of decent walks nearby for the summer evenings. Best of all is the exceptional welcome from Jozsef, Zoe, Julie, Norrie and the team. When working away multiple nights per week the friendliness really makes a difference, and man do these guys pull out all the stops. I tend to sit quietly in the corner whilst I witness countless locals pour out their souls speaking of divorce and regrets, all of which are handled with professionalism from the Elite pubs team. As I sit there admiring the patience of the team I canā€™t help but wonder what my own wife is up to 250 miles away from me. I assume she is enjoying a good film night with her bf. Until next time Wishful Thinker team, please keep up the good work. Giles

Great selection of beers and cocktails, the menu has a sensible number of options as to cater for all and the food itself is incredible. The refurbishment of this place has been done to an amazing modern standard and is the perfect venue for dining, pub evenings and for ladies who lunch. We very much look forward to coming back again soon!

We have eaten here a few times and has always been very good. This visit was a Sunday lunch for nine people outside, and although most of the food was of good quality as usual and the staff very pleasant. Those of us that had the garlic lamb were disappointed as the meat was tough and bland. Three knives had to be returned as they were rusty and dirty and a glass had a crack in it. We were disappointed this time but will definitely return. It's a lovely old pub, and up until now the food and service has been excellent.

This is a busy little cafe, staff were incredibly helpful, nothing too much šŸ˜ (There is another cafe in Notcutts next door, staff in there were rude and surly, we had only just ordered our drinks and sat down and a member of their staff told us we had to drink up as it was 4:30 and the cafe closed at 5 and she wanted to clear our table.) Go to Bricks, have a lovely coffee with pleasant staff who are pleased you see you šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ˜

Was heading to Nottcuts Garden Centre and had seen good reviews about this place so decided to drop in. Happy to say the reviews were right for once, lol. Lovely staff, very friendly, and although they were closing early when we went in they didn't rush us at all. The cake I had, the ginger cake, was delicious. Moist and very tasty. The hot chocolate was even better. Can't recommend this place enough!!

Great place for a coffee stop especially compared to other local places; lovely staff that make such an effort to accommodate and the cake choices are good - i can highly recommend the ginger loaf, a big piece thatā€™s surprisingly light and non sickly . Weā€™ve also had the toasted sarnies and the only slight negative is I wish they also did sourdough toasties here then itā€™d be perfect! But at least thereā€™s always a heated sausage roll or toasted cheese scone & marmite until then šŸ˜Š. Had the best iced cappuccino on warmer days, very well made here, as theyā€™re never quite right anywhere else.

Very old pub in a great spot. Plenty of seating inside with both a large bar and large restaurant area. Staff were very helpful and the chef was accommodating to our specific requirements. All the food was cooked to a high standard. The only downside was the relatively high bill compared to other pub restaurants.

A favourite place to walk to, have a coffee and chill. Itā€™s a perfect location, friendly staff and high quality food. For such a tiny place they do amazingly well. Iā€™ve introduced many people to this little gem. The dog biscuits are genius. My dog wonā€™t walk past without joining the queue for her biscuit so our furry friends approve too!!

Fantastic place to stop for coffee and a snack if out walking or mountain bike riding like I was today. Had a flat white - was excellent as was the sausage roll. This will now be my preferred mid ride stop for this route. Blankets available with outside seating so you can enjoy a coffee even on those chillier days. Stopped by again a few days after this review mid ride. Coffee and steak pasty excellent. Really pleasant place to rest for a while by the river. PS be sure to look out for the bold as brass Robin who likes to snack on cake crumbs etc! June 2022 update - seats and chairs upgraded - this place continues to impress!

Had a fantastic experience here. The food was great and of good quality. Portions were more than generous and especially for a kids roast. A few years ago (different owners I believe), this place was not much to shout about. But now it's a regular breakfast venue for me and business colleagues. The service is always excellent, swift and welcoming. The coffee is very good and the food... well, we wouldn't go back if it wasn't great every time! Pictured is my beans on toast, which isn't actually on the menu but is never any trouble. My friend has the vege breakfast which he assures my is top notch.

We really enjoyed our experience today at Leahā€™s bistro. Thereā€™s a lot of choice on the menu, something for everyone, and everything is freshly made and cooked. We really enjoyed the food, it was delicious! Prices are really reasonable too - 2 adults, 2 kids - lunch (sandwich and panini, 2 x kids meals), drink and cake each, worked out at about Ā£40. Definitely will come back. Staff are lovely as well, really friendly.

We have become regulars here over the past few weeks - the staff are friendly, kind and helpful, there is always a positive buzz whatever time of day you're here and the food is delicious. For fellow vegans and people who are gluten free, there are gf and vegan options available. Leah's has become our favourite place to visit at the weekend - If you haven't been to Leah's before, treat yourself!

Update 2024 December Had a roast lunch which was promptly ordered and served by polite very hard working staff. It was plentiful in size but could have been heated a little more evenly, this was Ā£12 there was an OAP option for Ā£10 which was smaller apparently. I though the cheese cake a bit expensive for its size Ā£3.95. Update 2023 Staff were friendly and patient. We had a roast lunch each which was served very hot, portion size were just adequate. They were amazingly quick at delivering our meal after order.

I was really impressed with our visit to the The Bow Window Cafe in Lenham. We popped in on a midweek lunch time, it was really busy and deservedly so. All the staff are really helpful and friendly, they try hard to accommodate everyone and their individual needs. The website says they are dog friendly and it's true, my dog even got a little treat. I thought the price was good value for the quantity of food that you got. The hot chocolate tasted really nice and chocolatey, they also made it with an alternative milk for me. My toasted sandwich was so delicious and filling, the brie was nice and gooey. I have to mention the toilets which were super clean despite the amount of people using them. I think I'd try and book when I go again, just to guarantee that I can eat there. It's situated right near Lenham Square car park but watch the 2 hour limit for parking.

The layout of the various little rooms and snugs - with cosy mismatched furniture - make this place incredibly cute and cosy in the heart of Lenham. The Americano was nice, and the hot chocolate clearly a big hit when pimped out with marshmallows. Staff were very friendly and it was a lovely place to pass an hour and warm up.
