Steak was an absolute winner my partner said! I really enjoyed the sea bass, extremely generous! You cannot miss out on the homemade Kent Gypsy Tart! Wonderful friendly atmosphere, the team could not do enough to help you enjoy the experience. Definitely will be back when I’m in Kent again!

This is a long awaited review! I visited here a long while ago with my boyfriend and family and I just haven’t stopped thinking about it. We travelled up here from strood as a special visit as we saw the place on google come up as one of the best restaurants near me. So we made the trip and it was more than worth it. The food was incredible, it was so hot and tasty I would honestly say it was one of the best meals I have ever had! The restaurant is also so beautiful and has a lovely feel to it, and the staff make this even better they are so kind and welcoming and provide great service, I definitely will make a point if coming back here when I can as it lived up to beyond my expectations. I have to add in, the scotch egg was unbelievable, although I didn’t take a second to photograph it, it wad the best scotch egg I have ever tasted, I 100% recommend it!

We had a wonderful experience here. The staff were all helpful and extremely friendly. Although the menu is not extensive, you won't be disappointed. We ate here last March and came back twice this time on our mid week break between Christmas and New Year We had sirloin steak (cooked to perfection for us) and salted caramel tart with ice cream which was divine! Next evening we went for the set menu but couldn't resist the steak again and caramel tart but also had starters of calamari and pate both good. Love the pictures of actors of bygone days and it feels a bit french style bistro inside All the staff are attentive and professional The place to try when in Canterbury and not a chain!

Nice place to have dinner on St Peter’s Street. Friendly service and good food. We were there at the end of the evening and some dishes and beers were not available anymore. Outside seating, very nice to watch people passing by. Vega options scored most points!

Went there for dinner tonight and was very happy with my whole order and service. The food was honestly great, found no fault with it whatsoever. The waitress was brilliant and very attentive all night and got us everything we needed being a table of 6 adults and a child. Very happy overall not complaints. Will be back soon.

Great Little restaurant right around the corner from the theatre and the cathedral. We popped in for dinner and had the duck breast and wild mushroom risotto. Both were perfectly prepared and the presentation was top notch as well. The kids had burgers and even those weren't small little burgers - proper portions. The host was very friendly and accommodated us even though we didn't have a reservation. Good service overall. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the Marlowe's. The prices was also very reasonable given the portions and quality of the food. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in Canterbury again.

Lovely cafe in the heart of Canterbury. The space inside is not a lot but there is a large covered terrace where it’s very pleasant to enjoy a meal or a drink. The food we ordered was nice, but the waiting time was quite long I would say (half an hour for some eggs). Nice cakes and teas too. I would stop again in a less busy day. Dog friendly.

Lazix has quickly become my favourite place to visit in Canterbury for a cake and a catch up with friends. For five visits I've had quick, friendly service every single time. The menu has a great range of choices, although the chocolate orange cake is so addictively gorgeous that I tend to get that most of the time. It tastes like jaffa cakes turned into a tiered cake and is amazing! The outside seating upstairs on the terrace is also lovely in sunny weather. Highly recommend!

Review: This café in Canterbury is clearly a local favorite, and it’s easy to see why! We visited during the early lunch hour, and it was buzzing with people, but there were plenty of tables available, including a cozy outdoor area with a covering. The service was excellent despite the busy atmosphere, and we had the best chai we’ve ever tasted—rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. Although we didn’t get a chance to try the food, the dishes we saw being served looked absolutely delicious. Definitely worth a visit for a great drink and lively ambiance!

Lazix Café is a hidden gem! I thoroughly enjoyed their Benedict egg ham and delicious bagel, both bursting with flavor and prepared to perfection. Their cherry pie is the best dessert I have ever had in my entire life and I am not exaggerating that. I passed by this cafe and spotted the cake & pie display through their window. It looked so good that I turned right around and went in and ordered a cappuccino (they did not judge me for ordering one at 4pm, very kind of them) and the glorious cherry lattice pie. I can taste it even now months later as I write this review. I see it in my dreams. It was unlike the syrupy, overly sweet pies that tend to be the norm in America. It was tart and dense and the crust was rich and buttery and soft. It was so beautiful it looked like one of the pies you would see sitting on a windowsill in a children’s book. I have never written a love letter to a pie before but I am writing one now because that is what this pie inspired in me. After that life-changing slice I got a second one to go, and the box made the journey to the evening church service at the cathedral and on to the train station and all the way back to London as I could not bear the thought of not having a slice of this pie to look forward to, as I sadly must do now. I live in the US so the only solution is to make it myself. I have been looking for a recipe for months but haven’t yet found one that comes close. If you are luckier than me and are in Canterbury or will be in Canterbury soon you should do yourself a favor and try it.

My family had the best day at The Royal Oak on Saturday. It was my daughter’s birthday so we had the bottomless brunch. We had our own waitress who was attentive and friendly. She kept an eye on our drinks and as we were finishing she bought along another refill without us having to ask. The food was good, as always. Would highly recommend the bottomless brunch for a special occasion or just for a good day. We sat in the lovely garden which is also wheelchair friendly. The children played on the bouncy castle and ate pizza that was also delicious. Can’t wait to do it all again.

My wife, kids, and I stayed in UK for an entire week for vacation and spent all of our time in London, Brighton, and Canterbury and this was the best meal by far that we had during our time in the UK. Their spirits and beers are brewed and distilled in-house and are all delicious! I highly recommend getting a flight of the infused gins and try a few half pints of their beers. It's all delicious. I personally had the Cajun chicken burger. 10/10 would definitely eat here again given the chance.

Excellent brewpub with a large selection of beers, four on cask the remaining 11 on keg. Great atmosphere and great beer. They also have a large selection of spirits distilled on site. I had the tasting paddle of 5 different beers in one third measures then tried 25ml of their single malt whisky. The Foundry black was my favourite beer and the whisky was delicious. I didn't eat here but the food served at the table next to me looked and smelt good. The staff were friendly, helpful and very efficient at their job. I'm very tempted to book myself on a tour next time I come to Canterbury.

The Foundry Brewpub is a good option for a Saturday afternoon. Perfectly acceptable, really. The food? Decent enough and good value for what you get. But here’s the thing—it just felt like it was missing that little spark. You know, the vibe that makes you want to settle in for a few hours and soak it all up. The atmosphere was a bit flat for my taste, but maybe I caught it on an off day. It’s certainly not unpleasant, just not exactly brimming with character. However, there’s one thing that will definitely leave an impression—the toilets. Oh yes, the mysterious “combo trap.” I won’t spoil it for you, but let’s just say navigating the facilities here is an experience in itself.

Very nice brewery/pub. Friendly service! They looked well after us. Food was good, pubfood, not perfect. I bet the brisket hadn’t been smoked for 8 hours. It was tasty though. The beer tasting menu was very nice. Maybe better not served all at once.

Good food and seems to be a popular spot in Canterbury. I had a table for 1 outside and Everything was going well until my table was cleared and offered to someone else. I came back a mere 2 mins later to no table and no drinks. I have to say this was rectified promptly and the waitress was very apologetic. Overall a really good experience with nice food, wine and service!

Tucked away in a quiet part of Canterbury, this Italian restaurant is an absolute gem. The serene atmosphere is matched by stunning surroundings, setting the perfect stage for an unforgettable meal. The food is simply outstanding, with authentic flavours that truly impress. The sharing platter we had as a starter was to die for - each bite was a delight. We just came in for a basic pizza, and it was hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had. We had olives and bread to start, also delicious. Every time a meal was carried past I wanted it! Intimate Italian Dining We booked a table last minute after we called into another restaurant/pub which didnt serve food on a Monday night....this turned into the best outcome ever!! The food was amazing, the staff friendly and efficient and prices comparible to pub prices, but the quality of food far superior. Seating inside or outside are available in a quiet corner of the Kings mile. Might go again tomorrow 😋

My husband and I stopped here for late lunch. Staff are all friendly and warm welcoming. Small dinning area but enough to enjoy 😉 and also available garden seating. My husband had a ham and chess croissant 🥐 it was very nice. And salad 🥗 is worth to pay. Lovely !!! And they have chocolate pistachio cake 🍰 it’s not really sweat, and tasty great! You should try. This is the best meal I’ve had in Canterbury and I understand why this restaurant has lasted so long. It’s one of the busiest restaurants too so you do have to book (it was packed even on a dreary February weekday ). The decor is colourful and wonderfully eccentric. Every member of the staff was warm and friendly despite the fact that they were very busy. I ordered a chicken fajita which came with generous, fresh portions of everything and deliciously cooked chicken. It’s worth noting that although the menu shows fajita for two that can also do single portions on request (I nearly didn’t have one at all because I don’t know this). Other members in the party all complemented the food. Overall it was excellent and I strongly recommend it.

Friendly staff, fun decor and delicious food. First time visiting and am new to Mexican foods so the staff helped me understand the menu items better to make my choice. Went for the spinach leek and cheese tacos and they were so good and paired wonderfully with the beans and guac. Excited to return and try more!

Wow. The duck is just fantastic. The server asked me how I wanted to duck, which was the first time I’ve ever been asked that. He explained to me that the duck tastes better and has a nicer texture if it id a bit pink. And he was right. The duck was the highlight of my entire trip to Canterbury! There’s also a student discount, which is really nice. This place is very popular, so be sure to make a reservation. Luckily they were able to fit us in without needing to make one.

What an absolute gem do I need to say anything more than it’s the oldest pub in town! Whether you come for an easy drink in the garden or for Sunday roast or dinner, it is always great. Food is delicious, has great variety, and service is on point, super friendly and helpful staff. I recommend checking out the daily specials too! Will keep returning here as it’s a favourite spot in Canterbury! The indoor interior is the best, authentic and wholesome experience!

Fabulous meal at the Parrot - booked having trouble to decide where to go and chose here more by luck having decided against a few trips further afield - so glad we did, everyone happy and one of the best meals had in a long time. The pie is a proper pie, the veg was fresh and perfectly cooked - starters had some fabulous options and quite simply couldn't fault. Coupled with great service we will definitely be back - it's slightly off the beaten track in Canterbury but really worth it and can highly recommend.

We fallen in love with this place and indeed we spent here all the dinners of our stay in Canterbury. The place is "old", warm and cozy. Like opening the door on the past, but a pleasant past. It is never too crowded, and privacy is maintained between adjacent tables. The food is very good, with also vg options. The staff is really nice and makes you feel welcome since the moment you set foot inside the door.

A massive portion of the Chicken Sunday Roast!! But very good indeed. It was my first roast ever and I quite enjoyed it. Love the option of veggies on the side (and a lot of it). Do recommend.

The ambience of the restaurant is inviting. The staff are professional, polite, and know the menu inside out. They are very welcoming. We love the decor and the food is very good. Parking is about 10 minutes' walk to the restaurant. I'm not sure, though, if there is any other access to the basement toilets. The lift is only accessible from the ground floor. Overall, I'm happy to recommend it.

Went here for Christmas Eve dinner and it was amazing! I've wanted to go to this place for a long time and regretted that I didn't do it earlier!! The atmosphere and interior are simply incredible, you can look at the scenery and paintings forever, they are all so beautiful!! I'd never known that Cosy Club existed until someone I know had recommended going. A friend and I were visiting Canterbury for a bottomless brunch at another venue and just had to visit to find out how nice it was for ourselves. It was a Sunday early evening, and quiet when we arrived. Our welcome was super friendly, and the service at the bar was good. Cocktails were 2 for £12.95 which is brilliant! We didn't have much time available before our booking elsewhere, although we tried to push back our other booking so we could stay longer, but was unfortunately unsuccessful in getting hold of the other venue, which was a shame. Despite this, we had enjoyed our first drink so much that we decided to go back for another before ending our evening and heading home. The lady at the bar even brought them outside for us! The decor is absolutely stunning, drinks tasted amazing and were served with a smile. We would definitely be back to try more of the cocktail menu!😍
