The service was great and the guys are friendly and polite. The coffee was very good, the cafe is very clean and the loo is spotless, I did see the kitchen as someone came out, spotless (yes I’m nosey!) I had the Welsh rarebit I like a stronger cheese and my toast was cold, this is a personal thing, they did ask if it was ok and I said yes! Would I go back yes, would I recommend yes . Would I have Welsh rarebit again no ! The ice cream is delicious and would definitely have again.

Great find! We popped in for a late lunch. We had the classic croque and it was delicious. A great combination of flavours with a lovely dressed side salad and home made coleslaw. A really great cup of coffee too. My sons vanilla milkshake was overflowing with cream and sauce topping! Friendly staff and swift service. Nice clean toilets too. Only slight downside if there is one was that there are a few steps up to the front door which could possibly be an issue for a few customers. Highly recommended café.

Fantastic service from Jason and his team. A top class clean for our solar panels (12) and the added benefit of an in depth test report on the entire system. I'd have no hesitation in recommending DES.

Really pleased with the work carried out to install 2 x extractors and a PIV unit. The work was much more involved than first thought, and the poor guy was working in our loft on the hottest day of the year! But he returned a second day to finish up and the original price was honoured. A pleasure having you in our home and feeling the benefits of the extractors and PIV as soon as they were turned on!

Both the men were very polite and efficient. Even though the weather was absolutely dreadful the man doing the cleaning still got up and cleaned the panels. Would recommend this company.

We brought a house with 12 solar panels just over a month ago. We knew the panels were not serviced or cleaned since installed 10 years ago (2013) We reached out to DES Ltd who completed a full service and cleaning service. Not only was the job done to a high standard but the knowledge shared and showing us how the system worked has be valuable. Highly recommend and thank you. Regards Riad

What a fantastic evening at The Three King's last night! The food was amazing, freshly cooked to order, succulent meat, char grilled veg and a banging home made hot sauce. The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming and chatted with us which made the evening all the more enjoyable. Great value for money and somewhere we will definitely return too.

We went here with our dog for breakfast and were very impressed. We have an eggs royal and the veggie breakfast, both if which were generous and delicious for the price. Really good to have a great veggie breakfast where so many places just do meat and vegan now! Very welcoming and busy / nice bustle on a Saturday morning. Will be back 👍🏼

The Stour Inn

5 Dorchester Hill, Blandford St Mary, Blandford Forum DT11 9LH, UK | Pub
P: 01258 268188

Rating: 4.5 (250) Price Level:

What a little gem of a pub!! Sadly no photos, but I can attest to the food being fabulous. I loved the creativity of the chef. Incredible scotch eggs, and his quirky Indian chocolate orange with a curry anglaise - whilst it sounds wrong on paper - was one of the best things I’ve had in yonks!!! Great local pub with cosmopolitan content. We loved it! 😍

I can honestly say my partner and I have just had the best roast dinner we’ve ever had. Being vegetarian we don’t usually bother to go out for dinner in Dorset as we’re often given bland boiled veg. The chef, Adam, and staff at the Stour Inn went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could possible want (crispy potatoes, garlic greens, cauliflower cheese, HUGE yorkshires…). Staff were so friendly and the pub has a wonderful atmosphere. We’ve already booked again for next weekend. Thank you!!

I love this pub. Friendly bar staff. I have found Locals are friendly and open to chat. The chef is amazing and always happy to accommodate people's needs and tastes. I enjoy the selection of ale which changes reg ( always have London pride on tap though) so this is my favorite pub.

Sorry for the delay in posting, We came here at the end of May this year, the staff were very friendly and helpful they even catered for my daughter who really struggles with certain foods coming into contact with each other and has lactose intolerance, the chef was most helpful and even came out to chat with us, the food was excellent and well worth it. We are looking forward to going back hopefully on our way back from Hampshire 23rd Aug 2024. Thank you to all the team.

This is a treasure of a pub. The staff are really friendly and the local's are happy to chat. What marks this pub out from others is the great selection or beers and tasty wines. They also cater for those who are not drinking alchol or are driving with a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks that actually taste great. The chef here is unbelivably good. We have dined during one of his Thai evenings and the food is beyond belief. This pub is doing things right when it comes to Roasts as well. A Big sharing veg (bowl after bowl keeps coming out) along with a great selection of meats. The sharing roast is brilliant and the quality of ingredients is top notch. They also have an excellent menu on offer during the week as well, in the pictures we had the Breakfast Scotch Egg, Pig Croquettes, Steak and the Sticky Biscoffee pudding. All amazing. - Wednesday is steak night which is 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £40 which is brilliant value.

A previous frequent and regular stop for us on our way West. Now returned after a few years since moving to Dorset. We love the location and the ambience hasn't changed at all. A hearty and friendly welcome by Tim, but entirely appropriate and not overfriendly. Excellent and a credit to the pub. Served by Shannon who was equally superb and dealt with our difficult friends very well indeed. We will definitely return soon, but on our own........... Thank you for an excellent lunch and superb service.

On a rainy , windy day we were made to feel most welcome. The rooms were comfortable , clean and well appointed, with everything you needed and more. Lovely biscuits and fresh milk to accompany teas, coffee etc. The evening meal was excellent with all round fresh ingredients; the pie was sensational. An ideal place from which to explore Dorset and beyond. I can highly recommend it.

We stayed in Moles Cottage for the weekend of my son’s wedding. The cottage is part of but next to The Museum Inn. It is an absolutely beautiful thatched cottage with all amenities needed. Each room is en-suite and towels are included. It was a perfect place for a large family wanting to experience a family event together. The only minus was that on the day of the wedding, the water would not come through hot and so most of us had to have a cold shower. The manager was apologetic and did send someone to look at it. For this reason I have only given 4 star. I would rebook though as we did have a lovely time. The cottage was dog friendly and the garden is neat and enclosed. Obviously it is an older property so comes with its own character.

We stayed in one of the feature rooms. Beautiful and roomy. The shower was a bit temperamental but wasn’t a problem. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We moved to Charlton Marshall in April and have eaten at the Charlton Inn many times since. Each time the food and service have been excellent, even when they were very busy. The Sunday lunch is one of the best we've had in our tours of local eateries since we retired. We will continue enjoying our visits and the great food in 2025.

We were visiting family in Blandford during November 2024 and decided to try the Charlton Inn for an evening meal. The choice of food was extremely good they also had a number of vegan options for the wife. The service, the atmosphere, the staff and the food was excellent. We was also allowed to stop over in their carpark in our motorhome, which made the evening even better. Would highly recommend it. In fact we are hoping to return in December.

Rich opulent flavours that deliver absolute joy on a plate. Fantastic place if you're on your own, having a date or meeting up with a friend or group to celebrate a special occasion. I always check out the toilets in restaurants because it says a lot about the hygiene of the place. I found them to be clean and tidy. I will be visiting again for some truly unforgettable pasta! We didn't stay here in accomodation as we stayed about a 5min walk away. The staff we excellent and the food was amazing. Although they run out of white bait as a starter the chef offered a mix of calamari and what white bait was left. Can't fault the food and the staff. As a table of 11 it was amazing and they were hosting a party also. Well done to all staff on Saturday night. Oh if you visit, I would recommend the scotch egg starter, stunning. Well done

We booked a last minute room last night as we were meant to stay at the Royal Oak but they messed up and sold our room to someone else. So we were panicking as we were 4hours away from home at 18:30pm. I found the Langton arms on booking.com and immediately booked it. We had a warm welcome and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay lovely. The food was amazing and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Thank you to everyone at the Langton arms for making what was stressed and sad night to a one that we will never forget. And we are truly hoping to be back in the future!

Decent food, excellent friendly service. Went here for group Sunday pub lunch following a walk. Food was cooked to a good standard and staff were very accommodating without being fussy. However the meal felt slightly on the pricey side (over £10 for most starters and £22± for most main courses) . Would otherwise be happy to recommend. Thank you
