This is a restaurant set in a beautiful location. We were well looked after throughout the evening, but were asked for drinks orders twice and steak knives were forgotten. This barely detracted from our experience with the staff who were friendly and conversational. We ordered: Cured salmon, smoked duck, heirloom tomato salad; Two sirloin steaks, red Leicester mash, confit garlic greens, blue cheese and peppercorn sauce; creme brulé and stick toffee pudding. All were hot, fresh and well cooked. The smoked duck breast in particular was our favourite and something we had never had before. If we are in the area again, I am certain we will return for even more food...

I came here with my partner for my 21st birthday dinner. The service was absolutely fantastic, really friendly wait staff and I was touched they had written me a birthday card! The food was phenomenal. I opted for a sirloin, rare with the skin on fries and peppercorn sauce. It was lush, melted in my mouth with a flavourful crunch on the outside. I also had the “harvest moon” cocktail - yummy pumpkin spice flavourings. I absolutely loved every minute of dinner. I would absolutely recommend for a special/celebration dinner! Thank you for creating such a memorable (and delicious) evening.

Been to Bistrolive a few times over the years, staff are always upbeat and friendly, lots of personality. Always have a good time, a good laugh and it’s lovely catching up with friends. The night is broken up well; arrival, menu & drink ordering, eating, quiz, dancing, lots of photo opportunities. This year just seemed a bit lacking in sparkle; the food isn’t as good as it used to be (I’m a foodie) there was no dessert ‘trio’ instead two little puds that were synthetic in taste (I work in a cake shop so could tell a huge difference), starter and main were nice enough but not wowing, I always enjoy the nacho tray on arrival- yummy! All this is fine though as for the cost of a ticket you get a full night. I would recommend to others even though I might not go again for a while and lastly - some of the music choices were rubbish, especially when you want to get your groove on, you should save the cr@p songs for the end of the night when you’re ready to close up shop!

11 of us went here for our annual Christmas party and as always, we had an amazing time! You really do get your value for money with your meals and drinks. Everyone is there to have a good time and the atmosphere is fantastic. I personally would like to say thank you to Sarah. Sarah looked after us and she made the night that much better with her attention to detail. We will definitely be coming back again in the new year and look forward to it. Great night at bistro live for a hen party. Food was amazing, all cocktails were great. Staff were very nice and a special shout out to Lewis who made the night fun. Made a nice fuss of the hen and made the night very special. Thank you again, would definitely recommend to everyone.

It was our first time visiting the restaurant, and we had an amazing experience. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. We did not find any faults at all. We will definitely be going back again.

Had a great meal - everything was very tasty and very delicious. We changed somethings around with our order and were pretty annoying customers to be honest haha, but they looked after us, got everything spot on and did it all with a smile, major props! The food was tasty, full of umami and exactly what you want from a Chinese restaurant, definitely elevated compared to a typical take-away, but you do pay a little premium for it. The chicken satay was the highlight, with prawn toast and ramen also being good, and one of the better beef noodle dishes we’ve tried. The atmosphere was a little quiet, but the music made up for it and we had a lovely afternoon! This is definitely one of the better places to get food in Loughborough, and 100% the best Chinese I’ve had thus far - thanks guys!

I have been here for two times now, and I can say, this is one of the best restaurants I have ever tried. Food is really tasty and delicious, atmosphere is great, service is fast and the prices are absolutely fantastic comparing to other businesses around. I travel from Nottingham just to eat here, so that says a lot. Keep it up!

Boxing 🥊 night & watching it on a superb front row quality TV screen. The food is prepared & served fresh. That was the best platter of vegetarian 🌱Falafel. Cooked with perfection. Followed by, a pot of Moroccan 🇲🇦 tea 🍵 🫖 Even though the owner is a good friend but, if there’s any fault with the place, food quality or service , I would have been sharing it on here so others can decide.

Excellent lunch here on Saturday. Staff were friendly and professional. The fixed 2 course lunch was excellent - baked camembert and then the fish cake. Lovely decor inside and good atmosphere. Very reasonable price for what we had. Will come back again.

Enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend making a reservation as it does fill up, especially on a weekend. Really love the calamari here as they are gluten free and delicious! They have a good wine list and they have good set menus if you book during the times those menus are available. The lemon dessert is also so amazing!

We recently ate here and still enjoy coming. Our recent visit didn't disappoint. Food was lovely and hot. Staff were lovely as always and we've seen so many over the 18 years we've been coming. The only downside is there is no bread and butter given, my kids loved that, and the 10% service charge added to the bill. 8 normally leave more that the 10% but I feel like I'm forced to pay that so I don't leave any more than that now. We will be back, we always are. Good work.

Visited this place twice from Leicester and we choose this branch over Leicester as the customer service is 10/10.. cannot fault them at all .. each time the staff was very helpful and explained everything about the food .. Really good range of Korean food, catering for children as well, everything was very fresh and tasty. Prices are good and the staff were incredibly helpful and polite. Definitely recommend going, especially if you like spicy food (you can have it without it being hot as well), the pancake desert is amazing.

What an amazing and unique little spot! Will definitely be coming back, multiple times, I can see it already! It’s perfect for lunch, with a variety of interesting flavours in the form of bowls, baos and wraps. They are all for healthy eating, but don’t sacrifice any flavour. The quencher was beyond gorgeous, with the little garnishes being a nice and welcomed touch. All the food so very filling and exciting, well worth the price (look out for all the cheeky deals they have too!) The staff went above and beyond as well, informing us of deals, having a little chat about the place, and offering to bring the food out as it was ready. All in all, fabulous experience, and will become one of the top spots in Loughborough!

Food is always great here. And the staff is quite friendly and helpful too! We had the poached eggs with creamy hollandaise sauce on a muffin, with spinach and mushrooms and it was a great flavor. The eggs were poached nicely as well However, the star of the show was the bang bang cauliflower noodles with veggies. The flavors were amazing and melted in your mouth, noodles were cooked to a nice texture and the veggies were a perfect pairing for this dish. My compliments to the chef

Found easily in Loughborough town centre, I immediately loved the atmosphere of the place. Seated quickly and found we could order food at the bar or online via QR code. The food came out quickly, was substantial and also very tasty - so much so that we went back the next morning and again, wasn't disappointed.

Really loved the food here, and the staff were really polite and helpful. I got the haddock chowder as a starter, and then the back bacon with mash and fried egg as a main. The bacon was absolutely insane and I'd never had bacon as good as that. Got some pictures of the food attached - it's great in there and you don't need to be a student or member of the faculty to visit.

We had a great three course lunch today. All tasty & well presented. The only (slight) criticism was the portion size of the veggie main course had by one of our party. The mushroom open lasagne was very small (no pic as wasn't my choice) in comparison to the other mains of chicken chasseur & salmon. Maybe if it had been served with e.g garlic bread or a side salad? Still fantastic value and very enjoyable.

We came here to eat at a special place to celebrate a 50th birthday. All the staff were very welcoming, attentive and most importantly, showed a willingness to talk to their customers. This is a quality that we really appreciated as it made the whole evening better. The food itself was simply delicious and we tried a variety of the more lavish dishes and were not disappointed - I really recommend this place and would definitely be returning x

I have been here a few times over the years and not been impressed. This time I certainly was. We went on a Sunday lunchtime, when it was very quiet. The service was excellent, efficient and friendly. We had three courses: several antipasti to share, four of us had meat dishes, one gnocchi. Everything was very good, even if the portion sizes are larger than we could finish. We had the mixed desserts for afters, all of which were lovely. The meal wasn't cheap, but it was worth the money. I recommend this place if you are looking for good Italian food. My wife is from Italy and loved it

The staff were all welcoming and a shout-out to the chefs and Gareth at the bar for being so brilliant that evening. the food came out fresh off the grill and nothing was cold. Staff were attentive and friendly. There is a nice selection of on tap drinks and a selection of different meals to choose from. If your looking for somewhere to have a nice meal at that's not too expensive I recommend Maxwell's highly :)
