We stopped off for night on way to Scotland- what a delight
Lovely hotel with lots character and a wonderful team
Rooms are individual and very comfortable. It’s a very grand hotel with such history so worth visiting & the courtyard is a fab place to hang out even for coffee
Plenty of parking in secure areas too

They have a nice cocktail bar ( great cocktails) with live music when we were there , bar man super efficient

After we had a fabulous meal - very nicely presented and tasty

So all round recommend

Our 2nd time here at the Angel and Royal and it is always amazing being there. The building is awesome the rooms are very romantic and comfortable really didn’t want to leave. We had cocktails which was only next door to the hotel and they were lovely! Staff were so nice and friendly when we ordered room service the food was spectacular. This will definitely be our most visited place and will be back again for sure. Thank you everyone for making us feel very welcome and comfortable during our stays.

Stayed here with friends. Had drinks in the Bar early afternoon, then moved into the cocktail bar and after a freshen up we had dinner in the restaurant .
The building is old and has been renovated very tastefully. Lots of Jewell colours on the furniture.
The food was outstanding and the service was excellent.
Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Had a late Sunday lunch. It was absolutely fantastic. My wife had the roast beef and I had the the lamb. Both meals were superb. Cooked correctly and very generous, also, the vegetables and Yorkshire pudding were all cooked perfectly. We would definitely look this place up if we are ever in the area again.

Wonderful building with an interesting history. The rooms were spacious and in keeping with the traditional aesthetic. Smart TV in the room was a nice touch. The bed was very comfy and the room cosy.

Special mention to all the staff and the lady at reception who was so friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great stay.
