An absolute gem of a restaurant tucked away on New Cross rd, big fan of all the food esp chilli shredded beef and almond lemon chicken - but I try smthg new each time and it never disappoints
Cute family-owned spot for all your classic, homey and nostalgic British Chinese dishes. The food isn’t fancy but prices are reasonable and all the dishes are made fresh to order.
Uncle Wrinkle in New Cross is a British Chinese hidden gem that should be on every food lover's radar. Though the dining space is small, making it more suited for takeaway, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Everything is cooked fresh to order, ensuring that each dish is as flavorful as it is perfectly prepared.
The crispy beef and chicken wings are standout dishes, offering a satisfying crunch without being overly oily—something many takeaways struggle to achieve. The freshness and quality of the ingredients really shine through in every bite, making Uncle Wrinkle the best of its kind in London. I only wish every Chinese takeaway could match this level of excellence.
We'd heard that Uncle Wrinkle was a hidden gem and it certainly is.
The braised pork belly was my favourite dish, but everything was good.
Don't expect a fancy restaurant. Expect good, family-style food instead.
Hands down one of the best Chinese meals I have ever had!!! Food was impeccable, the staff are so warm and friendly. I will go here all the time from now on! PORK BELLY LETTUCE WRAP AND PRAWN TOAST OMFG 10/10
