Top Places and Services in Sleaford, Lincolnshire

Having recently move to Sleaford we popped in to have a drink and a nose around. Staff very friendly and helpful a d whilst we only had a drink on this occasion we had a look at the menus and we will certainly return for a meal soon. The covered Courtyard was lovely.

We all went here for our Sunday dinner. It's probably the best place in the area for a Sunday roast. Three of us had beef, and the other had roast pork. We all agreed on how well the meat was cooked. Very soft and tender. The meal was accompanied by a bowl of vegetables, and there was enough to go around. The only minor issue I have here is that if you want mashed potatoes, then it is offered as an extra. Personally, I feel it should be included as standard. But all in all the meal was very good. We all agreed that it's better when the dinner is served to your table as opposed to queuing with a ticket while someone serves you an adult version of a school dinner.
Whilst we all raved about how good the dinners were, the puddings were a bit of a disappointment. I had bannoffe pie. ( As described on the menu) it was actually a bannoffe tart. Served with a small jug of cream. There wasn't a lot of flavour to it, and it certainly never had much of a banana flavour. I would have much rather had a traditional type of this pudding.

cream. He said it was OK, but nothing special. The only one who was happy was my girlfriends mum, who had the rice pudding. She said it was very nice.
So ,mixed feelings on the overall experience. But we will all be back even if it's just for the main meal.

A single traveller attending a funeral I stayed for 2 nights in room 24. A corner bedroom it was huge and the bed was bigger than king sized and very comfortable. There are windows on both walls which makes the room airy and light, but a radiator controlled by the guest keeps it lovely and warm. The bathroom a little dated but fine as far as I was concerned - again plenty of hot water and lovely and warm. I paid £100 per night with continental breakfast - good value all round. Plenty of choice and if you wanted a cooked breakfast it was an extra fiver but I was happy with the continental. Two evening meals were beautifully cooked and presented and the service was second to none. Efficient staff in all departments. Plenty of room in the car park and the railway station less than a five minute walk away. The trains passed nearby but I never once heard them. Parts of the building are over a hundred years old with the original features of leaded light windows and high ceilings. A general ambience of quiet style and homeliness. Lidl are opposite so if you forget something as I did no problem, certainly not a noisy site. I would definitely stay again.

Decent sized double glazed rooms, Victorian building close to Sleaford railway station. Friendly staff, good food, some decent real ale on hand pumps, fairly good wine selection. In a reasonably quiet spot (although you can hear trains quietly arriving and departing Sleaford station at slow speed (clunk clunk, clunk clunk). It would be nice to see some 'destination' electric vehicle chargers at the hotel for guests and visitors that arrive in electric vehicles - The rear car park layout would easily lend itself for a decent number of 7kW single phase charging outlets (at least 6 very easily, physically - This would require 2 x 100A 230Vac 50Hz grid supplies to implement).
