Reviews
I've been to a lot of riding schools over the years, and Dudmoor is up there with some of the best. We've recently moved to Bournemouth from Hertfordshire. We tried another riding stables a few weeks ago but it was dirty, the horses run-down and the teacher not very good. I thought I'd be looking a while to find a decent school, but Dudmoor Farm is wonderful. For a start, it's immaculate. It's set in lovely grounds, the stables are clean and (amazingly for a riding school) even the toilet is clean.
Most importantly of all though, the staff are so friendly and attentive. I've found over the years that riding schools often fall into two camps - shoddy but down-to-earth or slick but snobby. This school seems to offer the best of both worlds - lovely facilities and friendly staff. My daughter is quite shy and takes some cajoling - but the girl who taught her was brilliant. She is the first person who's properly made sure she keeps holding her reins correctly and actually taught her, rather than letting her jog round without instructing her on anything of value. She was an amazing teacher and didn't stop talking or encouraging the two riders throughout the duration of the lesson. I was incredibly impressed. We'll definitely be returning to this riding school as they're a glowing example of how to run a business.
Lovely place to learn how to play golf. The 9 holes give you a challenge with sone narrow fairways. The greens are in a good condition, considering the heatwave
My daughters have been going here for a few lessons now and will continue to do so. Ponies are lovely, staff is lovely, and I feel for a beginner this is a lovely, relaxed and friendly place to learn to ride. Instructors are encouraging and there are not too many children on lessons, meaning my children get a lot out of each lesson, feel happy and relaxed, and look forward to going back!
Even my husband has had a go at riding now, encouraged by the relaxed atmosphere of the stables.
I am an experienced rider myself and have lessons here too. It depends what you are looking for... if you are looking for a relaxed, friendly school in beautiful surroundings, then I would highly recommend Dudmoor Farm.
The only exception is, if you are looking for more advanced riding instruction and are an advanced rider, I don’t think most of the horses use to being worked at that level. But again it depends on what you are looking for, and we have certainly been more than happy with it.
Not exactly a pristine course, but a great little golf course for beginners. No pressure environment. Friendly staff
Great little golf course friendly staff, course is kept up to a good standard the ground staff make the most of a short course played numerous times and always found challenging enough to keep attention even on second time round to play 18. Inexpensive to play and if teaching your nipper to hit a ball no pressure. Only issue is if you are reasonable player playing as pair you catch others quickly and they seldom let you play through can be frustrating.
