LOVE Beryl and Pegs! Superb food, service with a smile and excellently sourced produce. They serve a proper full English with bubble & fried slice - but plenty of sourdough, avocado & poached eggs etc if that’s your thing. Great, hearty sandwiches & homemade cakes too. First class all the way! You can walk in but … Very popular, so worth booking a table. Highly recommend!

I have been visiting here every morning since starting work in Reigate. I'm always met with a smile and politeness. The coffee and food are delicious and worth returning for, I usually go for scrambled eggs on toast, a simple meal but done very well. Today I had the salt beef sandwich, it was delicious! Huge fan of the red cabbage and gherkins 😊

Beautiful, bustling, friendly and home cooked. Just love it. Sadly no salt beef hash today - but the scotch egg was awesome as was the feta, spinach and salmon muffin. I will bring friends and family here.

I went to Smith and Western on Boxhill for a birthday lunch, the menu was creative and well-put together. From stakes to spare ribs To chicken and burgers... the presentation of each dish when it arrived at our table was first class. Everything was nicely cooked and really enjoyable. Amazing place to go out and eat with friends and family. You really think that you are taking part in a Western movie with Cowboys 🤠 and Indians ❤️ Service was fantastic 👏 👌 It didn't take long for us to get our incredible Burgers 😋 😋 😋 😍 And about the deserts 🏜 😏 oh my God! We went tonight for my daughter’s 16th birthday, the food, the service and the atmosphere was 5 star. By far the best food we have had there over the past 5 years there. John our waiter was on fire, he gave a fantastic rendition of happy birthday ever with the birthday dessert surprise. He was a little run off his feet but looked after us so well. Highly recommended and thank you to the whole team.

Absolutely the best birthday place! I had such an amazing time and felt super celebrated. Tabby made my day absolutely fantastic. Her and another lovely colleague sang me happy birthday so nicely, and it didn't feel like they did it just because they had to, it was lovely! The atmosphere in there is so cool, really commits to the vibe while not being too cheesey and the food is fantastic! I had one of the best vegi burgers I have ever had! Overall Absolutely amazing! Couldn't recommend more!

Booking can be done online and thank you to the staff who remembered that it was my friend’s bday (i placed a note during online booking which i forgot lol) - they gave him a glass of wine upon arrival. Food wise- it’s reasonably priced. Huge serving and delicious. We got pork cutlet for main and lentil soup for appetizer. Dessert is just okay the brownie bite was kinda hard but overall it was an amazing lunch experience. Theres an art gallery within the estate and gift shop worth visiting. We werent able to do a vineyard tour coz it rained but we will definitely come back. Shout out to Kai- she’s very accommodating and warm to the gallery restaurant customers. She’s the one who took our order and served the food. All staff were lovely.

Stunning place and views! We’ve done the wine tour twice now, with the fizz glass included and I highly recommend it. We’re so lucky to have this just 30min drive from us. Love the little organic food shop and always get cheese and bread to bring home. Delicious!

We recently visited the Denbies Wine Estate and had a lovely time! The vineyard was beautifully decorated, creating a festive atmosphere that our kids absolutely loved. They especially enjoyed the train ride and meeting Santa Claus and Elves.

Really lovely tour. The train car ride was my favourite bit. The views were STUNNING. The only reason I’m not giving full 5 stars is because I did not enjoy the wine tasting. It felt incredibly rushed and we only tasted 3 wines, all of which were similar, I would have liked a bit more variety. As well as it felt like everything EXCEPT wine was being promoted. Really beautiful place though Lunch was AMAZING

I had my wedding day here on the 26/10/24 Honestly could not find a fault, my day was made so special by the help of Helen who was amazing through out my whole experience. The setting was simply stunning and we were very lucky to catch a beautiful autumn sunset. The food and wine was perfect and all of our guests have complimented how much they enjoyed their day. Thank you once again to everyone at the Hartsfield manor for helping us have the dream wedding day!

My son got married here in August & what a most wonderful day it was. I couldn't fault or change anything. The venue itself is beautiful with lovely grounds & quiet. We were blessed with sunshine so the ceremony was held outside - so special. The food (canapés, wedding breakfast & BBQ) was very good as said by all guests too. Everything ran smoothly - thanks to Bethany (wedding coordinator) & all staff who were very attentive, polite & helpful. The bedrooms were comfortable & clean & breakfast in the morning was plentiful. It was a truly amazing and special day enjoyed by everyone. I would most certainly recommend Hartsfield Manor for a wedding venue.

Longer Review: Hartsfield Manor offers a stunning and picturesque setting, perfect for a weekend escape or a special occasion. As part of a murder mystery evening entertainment package, my stay was overall enjoyable, but there were notable areas for improvement that stopped it from reaching its full potential. Stunning Location and Historical Charm The manor itself is a beautifully preserved country house steeped in history, and it’s easy to see why it’s such a popular wedding venue. The aesthetics and atmosphere exude charm and elegance, particularly in the main building, where we stayed. The rooms in the main house were well-kept, tidy, and comfortable, adding to the luxurious feel of the stay. That said, the lodge-style accommodations situated on the grounds seemed incongruous with the historical vibe of the manor. While I didn’t stay in these, their appearance felt out of place, so I’d recommend paying extra for a room in the main building if possible. Service Shortcomings Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. One recurring issue was the absence of bar staff in the lounge bar. Each time I wanted to order a drink, I found myself heading to reception to find someone to serve me—a tiresome inconvenience for what should be a seamless experience. During the murder mystery dinner, the lack of table service was a missed opportunity for the hotel. Drinks were not served directly to guests, forcing you to leave your table and risk missing parts of the show. A simple solution, such as offering table service via a QR code for easy orders, could have significantly enhanced the experience while boosting the hotel’s revenue. The serving staff also fell short of expectations. Many appeared to be teenagers lacking professional development, with little understanding of efficiency or the etiquette required for polished service. However, the older staff members were no better. One short, stout waiter—sporting a comical moustache and a sour expression—clumsily bumped into me while clearing plates, causing me to stumble forward. To make matters worse, he didn’t offer an apology, leaving me feeling obliged to apologize instead. This lack of basic courtesy and attentiveness was a glaring issue throughout the evening. Mediocre Dining Experience The food was adequate but far from memorable. While I consumed everything on my plate out of sheer hunger (dinner was served at 8 p.m.), the dishes lacked imagination and flair. For an event designed to immerse guests in a lively dinner show, the culinary offerings felt lacklustre and uninspired. Final Thoughts Hartsfield Manor has the potential to offer an outstanding experience, especially with its stunning location, historical charm, and comfortable main house accommodations. However, the subpar service and uninspired dining detracted from the overall enjoyment of our stay. The murder mystery evening was fun, but the lack of table service, inattentive staff, and lacklustre food were significant shortcomings. I’d recommend the manor for its location and aesthetic appeal but would encourage management to focus on professional development for staff and consider creative ways to improve the guest experience during events.

It was hard to believe that this food was actually served in a pub. Arkle Manor lived above and beyond my expectations. Beautiful fresh produce served with care and delicately crafted. The food was absolutely delicious, I had the Chipotle British Half Rotisserie Chicken and the flavours worked so well, the chicken was succulent and the whole meal was cooked to perfection. Followed by the brownie for dessert which hit the sweet spot :) I would highly recommend a visit.

I used to work for the Arkle as head barman many years ago when David Rustle was the duty manager. Popped in for some drinks and some food on Saturday 11/1/25. The service was amazing. The food was delicious. The young lady behind bar was incredible. Highly recommended as a place to just relax, unwind and enjoy what’s on offer. Thank you Arkle team.

I recently enjoyed a lovely meal at the Arkle Manor. I opted for the banana blossom stew which was delicious, followed by a mini crème brûlée which was the perfect sweet treat to finish. I was really impressed with their selection of non-alcoholic cocktails - it's great to see such interesting options available. I also appreciated that they included calorie information on the menu, which is always helpful. The staff were attentive and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The facilities were generally good, although the toilet roll did need replacing. Overall, I had a very positive experience at the Arkle Manor.

Make sure you book a table outside, the views of box hill are incredible. If you are here in the evening, they have blankets for outside and the fire, so it’s feels very cosy and romantic. The food here is brilliant, I recommend the lamb, the hake (sometimes on the specials board), the roast dinners! Portions are large, and great value for money. Staff here are really friendly, and sometimes they have live music on a Friday night.

Lovely pub, great food. We popped in for Sunday lunch before a trip to a nearby winery. They are running a really slick operation, service was on point, and food was delivered very quickly. We had one of the Sunday roasts which was very nice although my personal preference is for the veg to be a little more cooked (a minor complaint). After lunch we went out to the lower terrace to enjoy a drink in the sun. Can't fault the place, good food in an excellent location with fast attentive service. Everything was great!

What a wonderful dinner at The Watermill, It's well worth a visit, I would fully recommend it. The food was delicious. I had Venison Pie with mash and gravy, which was sublime. I was also particularly pleased because it was a full pie rather than just with a pastry top. The pie itself was delicious, and the mash, cabbage and gravy were also excellent. The portion was a good size too, and reasonably priced. I had an Elderflower Spritz mocktail to drink which was also excellent. For dessert, I found it incredibly difficult to choose as they all sounded great, but in the end had the Toffee Apple Arctic Roll, which was very nice and not too heavy. The service was excellent also, the staff are very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back, if only to work my way through the dessert menu, as there were so many delicious sounding dishes to choose from. I would definitely recommend The Watermill.

The Watermill has always been my go-to pub in the summer, but this was my first time visiting during winter, and I’m so glad I did! I booked a Christmas brunch with friends, and the entire experience was fantastic. From the start, Daniel made us feel incredibly welcome. He had thoughtfully booked us a lovely table, keeping in mind that we had three toddlers with us. His friendly demeanor instantly put us at ease. Peter, who served us, was equally amazing—so kind, patient, and attentive, even amidst the inevitable chaos of having little ones at the table. He went above and beyond to make sure we were all comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Offered to click our pictures as well. The food quality was great as always, and the staff’s warmth and attentiveness really stood out. To top it off, they had a charming Christmas market in the outdoor area, with lots of cute things to browse and buy. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I can’t wait to come back again—whether in summer or winter! Highly recommend The Watermill for its great food, friendly staff, and cozy ambiance.

Beautiful pub by Box Hill! Lovely outdoor garden terrace overlooking the hill. It was a very busy Saturday but the service was still friendly and efficient. The food was amazing - the Dressed Devonshire Crab was very refreshing and the truffle mayo was amazing! The baked Camembert went really well with the apricot jam!

Popped in again for lunch and once again we were not disappointed. Warm and festive with very friendly staff . Food and service very good . It wasn’t our first visit and definitely won’t be our last . Highly recommend a visit I had a jacket potato which was cooked to perfection with plenty of filling and my husband had scampi and chips both came with a lovely salad

Went there for lunch last Friday as I hadn't been there for a number of years and I wasn't disappointed. The food was excellent. Good old fashioned pub grub ( or put another way, a proper plate of food). I had the cheese steak burger. It was absolutely delicious and the wonderful side salad that it was served with. It's been a while (years) since I've visited this pub. It's much improved in my view. The food was good and the service was excellent despite it being a busy or Xmas Sunday lunch. The roasts were tasty (could have done with a bit more veggies though). On the expensive side, approx £140 on a meal for 3 people with a drink and no starters.

One of the best pub lunches and experiences I’ve had in a very long time. This pub is superb. Not enough superlatives to describe it. The pub is lovely, really nice laid back, traditional pub but with a modern feeling. Very spacious and lots of seating indoor and outdoor. The outdoor area is huge and covered, with plenty of heaters. Ideal for larger groups. The food is amazing. Had the roast beef Sunday lunch, genuinely one of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had in a very long time. Superb. Staff are friendly and welcoming. A bit on the expensive side but well worth the money. Highly recommended

A really lovely atmospheric pub, great food and drink and welcoming friendly and helpful staff. This was my second visit and will definitely go again. Everything you’d hope for and expect from an English country pub 👍👍

A wonderful find, a real local pub with great service with friendly and cheerful staff. Great local beer and the ploughman's were great (A little more cheese, please, maybe blue cheese), which really added to our visit. A dog friendly pub with a beautiful historic church opposite, which was also a part of the film Four weddings and a funeral, the 1st wedding apparently! The dolphin was well worth the drive!

Absolutely lovely food, what a find. Came down for a special occasion on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. Sitting outside in the lovely garden, next to a group of cockerels which kept the kids happy, the staff were really friendly and food and drinks came super quick. We had roast beef roasts, sticky toffee pudding and drinks as well as kids fish and chips. All the veges were beautifully cooked as well as the rare roast beef and Yorkshires. Great portion we were stuffed after and you won’t be disappointed. Thank you, can’t wait to come back

Popped in for weekday lunch. Very good menu and portion sizes. Lovely pub and amazing service.
