Nice cosy pub in Fordingbridge for a chinwag with mates over a drink. Gone several times. Very Friendly service and reasonable prices. Plenty easy parking at the back of the pub that is free after 6.00. Highly revcomended
Review of the pub & food rather than the accommodation as we didn't stay there.
Can't praise the staff here highly enough, they are all very friendly, extremely helpful, and understand all there is to in regards to customer service.
The food quality is excellent. Very fresh, good portions, and an excellent choice - the "standard" menu alone would be more than ample, but then there is a specials board with some great "alternative" cuisines, when we were there, American and Polish dishes were also available. Shame we couldn't try more of them - the chef knows what he is doing.
I had the steak & kidney pudding, which seems to be harder and harder to get these days - it was a great size and tasted amazing.
If I could look for any improvement anywhere, it would be to offer more dessert choices, but really, those they have are great.
Summary: Amazing staff, great food, great service.
We didn't stay, but went for an evening meal. The food was very good, I had the fish pie which was delicious and hot. This would have been an easy 5, but the table was so sticky, my napkin stuck to it and ripped. Everything else brilliant though.
Good food and drinks served here in a relatively friendly atmosphere. A little pricey but worth waiting for. Can't comment on the rooms as I have not stayed there. Clean and tidy pub. Local people are friendly which adds to the character of the place. Recommended for the cuisine.
