Fantastic birthday lunch. In my opinion,the experience was much better than other restaurants in the area. Luckily we had come across the Green Dale Oak after walking out of our booked meal that lunchtime because of the atmosphere at the then called Van Dyke Hotel, not being suitable and Luckily we were able to eat at the Green dale.
Great service, fantastic food and the perfect atmosphere.

Had a meal here recently for the first time. The menu has many options and the portions sizes are spot on, the burgers and calzone were both delicious and I would definitely recommend them!
We were well looked after by Leah, nothing was too much trouble and she was very friendly and welcoming.
Will return to try something else in the future!
Time to 'fess up'. I've been popping to the 'Oak' for a while now and not putting a review on because I'd like to keep it a bit of a secret, but...... that's not really fair. This is is a really lovely country pub, it feels modern but with deep roots in both the landscape and the community, a rare feat in today's world. It is located within walking distance of botht he public Clumber and private Welbeck estates. It's really easy to plot an entirely off road walk or cycle from any of the nearby towns of Mansfield, Worksop, Retford or Ollerton and cycle or catch the bus back. It might be 13 miles from my home but I'm more than prepared to overlook that and consider this my 'local'. The food is varied and excellent and the range of beers eclectic and well kept, all in all an excellent public house and long may it continue!
Booked for Sunday lunch and from the moment we arrived, throughout everything was exceptional. The staff are very friendly nothing is too much trouble.
The food was divine.... Our Friends loved it too. Would highly recommend going here and booking in advance to avoid any disappointment.
