If you like remote and dog friendly, this is ideal. Google maps took us down some country lanes and over a single way bridge, on the map the pub shows pretty much on an island surrounded by country parks & lakes. The location is nice. Car park has about 30 spaces & I think 2 electric car chargers. The pub was pretty quiet when we arrived and the locals/staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The pub itself has a lovely interior. To the food, we had the vegan burger, bacon and cheese burger and the childs fish goujons. All very nice and well portioned. For dessert we had the rhubarb crumble with vanilla and vegan ice cream, finished off the meal perfectly.

Nice food, service, beer and cider, toilets and atmosphere. What more can you ask for! I was a bit greedy and couldn't finish the ciabatta bread I'd ordered as a side to accompany fish and chips, so I asked for a doggy bag to take it home. They wrapped it up nicely in foil, so I was able to finish and enjoy it later. PS plus it's 25% off food on Wednesday with the Butcombe loyalty card. Great stuff!

A really lovely quintessential English pub in the countryside with good food, warm service and loads of space to park.

We had the fish and chips and bangers and mash. The fish was huge and very flakey without being dry while the sausages used for the bangers and mash were really delicious. If you’re ever in the area, pop in!

The welcome from Jade and Maddie into this beautiful pub was fantastic. We stayed on the car park for the night in our Motorhome. They love dogs and even brought out treats for them. The food was 5 star, like a gastro pub but with sensible prices. It's a must if your passing.

Great dog friendly pub, food is always excellent, service too. Chris and the rest of the team are always friendly and attentive. Emily looked after us on our most recent visit and she was great, we have also been looked after by Maddie, she is always very helpful and friendly providing brilliant service. Highly recommended.
