Arrived at Barge and Bottle just as they were finishing serving midday meals today. Was greeted by Sammy who was happy and friendly. She checked that kitchens would still serve us and thankfully for us they were.
Sammy then served us with the upmost courtesy and made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant (it was pleasantly busy)
The atmosphere was not too loud and everyone appeared happy and relaxed.
The food was absolutely delicious with a chicken and beef sizzler ordered and the veggie fajita. Huge portions of excellent quality food.
Would highly recommend this eatery and would like to thank Sammy for making us feel so welcome today. The Barge and Bottle should be proud to have you as the face of their business

Went for a family meal with a party of 14. Service was really good, bearing in mind the size of our group.
It's reasonably priced and a decent menu considering our range of ages, from 6 months to 67 years.

Food is always good value pub grub but can be hit and miss. Good drinks are offered also. It is in need of a refurbishment inside. The seating especially looking tired in the bar.

Lovely varied menu, it was difficult to choose. I went for the Mediterranean Vegetable Wellington in the end... delicious! A small group of us, celebrating a birthday. Staff were very accommodating, made us feel welcome. We all enjoyed our meals very much. And good value for money too.

I've been going here for meals quite a lot recently. It started when my partner went here for a meal with her family when I was in hospital. She was tired from all the running around so her mum took her for lunch. The next day, when she came to visit me at the hospital, she explained how lovely the grilled salmon meal she had was.
So when I got home and was feeling better, we went out for some dinner. We've also had a couple of Sunday lunches here. Very recently, I wanted to take her for lunch. The place we so often went to was closed , it was just after New Years, so they were probably having a break. Anyway, we went to The Barge & Bottle, and I ordered a breakfast. My partner didn't really know what she wanted. She had been set on going to the previous place and was looking forward to her meal there.
After chatting with a very friendly member of staff, they told her that they would make it for her even though it wasn't actually on the menu. She also explained that everything they cook is fresh food and it would not be a problem. Fifteen or so minutes later, our meals arrived, and my partner couldn't believe how nice they had made it.
So that was quite impressive. It was explained to us that in the future, you want something that isn't on the menu ask, and we'll try to accommodate as best as we can. So definitely a ten out of ten for all concerned. Thank you.
