We have been to the Imperial Mahal curry restaurant in Scunthorpe.
This was our first visit to this restaurant which opened in July this year, and we were very impressed! The food was excellent, well spiced (although this can be adjusted to suit individual tastes), and generous portions. The restaurant has a mixture of booths and large tables and they can cater for big groups as required.
We had poppadoms and pickles to begin, followed by fish pakora, chicken pakora, and sheek kebab starters. Main courses were chicken korah, makham badhami (almond and butter chicken), chicken pathia and lamb pathia. We had vegetable rice and freshly cooked nann to accompany the mains. Bryan and Jan had an Irish coffee to finish, Adrian had kukfi, and I had Akhbari pistachio ice cream.
We were very impressed with the standard of the food, the ambience of the restaurant and the courtesy of the staff - we will certainly visit here again! Thank you Najem, and the rest of the staff - we had a lovely evening!

We visited the restaurant as a couple for a birthday meal. From the moment we walked in the staff were attentive and friendly. They were knowledgeable about the menu with recommendations of what to order. We had popodoms to start with a mixture of different ones with dips and they were by far the best ones I've ever tasted, the black pepper ones were unreal. We had the mixed starter also which had the most incredible onion bhajis and lamb koftas. The curry, garlic naan and mushroom rice for the main was beautiful we had to take the rest home with us. The atmosphere is lovely the owner is so friendly and overall the staff were just brilliant. By far the best Indian we have both ever had and we had such a lovely night. We will definitely be returning and recommending to our friends. The prices are so reasonable for the service and food that you get Thankyou ☺️

Wow. 2 couples. Lovely time. One eater a die hard plain eater tried the Handi and found it excellent. This restaurant wants the customer to enjoy their dining experience and tailor the food to you not serve up same old same old, good portions. Attentive staff, informative Naj was brilliant as well as funny. So relaxed, had a great time. Will definitely be back.

We had an outstanding dining experience at this restaurant. The owner was incredibly accommodating with our order, customizing the level of spiciness and other flavors to our preferences. He was happy to chat about the various options, ensuring we made the best choices for our meal. The waiter was attentive and provided excellent service throughout our visit.

The owner used to run another Indian restaurant we loved, and he remains as lovely and welcoming as always.

The food was nothing short of excellent. Each dish was a delightful blend of rich, authentic flavors, expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The aromas were enticing, and every bite was a burst of deliciousness. The appetizers were fresh and flavorful, the main courses were hearty and satisfying, and the desserts were the perfect end to a fantastic meal.

Overall, this restaurant offers not only superb food but also top-notch service and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Amazing! The food tastes alot different to your typical Indian restaurant, a great choice of drinks, we had a bottle of Sauvigon Blanc which I would highly recommend. Be sure to try the different types of poppadoms and we had the Mahal starter and was excellent, faultless service couldn't of asked for any more!
Will definitely be back.
