Had a lovely family get together for my birthday for Sunday lunch. We all agreed the roasts were lovely, and a great selection of vegetables. Only gripe, being winter, my husband loves either a crumble, or fruit pie with custard , which would have been a welcome addition to the sweet menu?! Hence the drop of one star.

Lovely setting. Food was good. Service was pretty quirky with the blonde waitress - although some people may take offence to her phrases. Not too expensive considering the 4 of us.

Few negatives compared to when we came last time.

The roast dinner could of been put on hotter plates, they were tepid. £20+ a main it really needs to be hot.
Both back doors were opened and lots of flies were hoovering in the establishment. Fly lights were up but not doing anything.

Otherwise the food was pretty decent.

Lovely homely pub serving delicious food in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Menu choice is excellent and all of the dishes we had were freshly cooked and well presented. Staff were cheerful and very attentive.

We went for a family Sunday roast today and the Halfway Inn was fantastic! Lovely atmosphere, friendly team and a really great roast. Great portion, fantastic cuts of meat and lots of nice veggies. Lovely Yorkshire too that was crisp round the top and squidgy in the middle - perfect!
