Unfortunately the Bangla Cottage closed down a month or two ago and a new business has opened the Eight Peaks Dine in its place.
I miss the BC but pleased that this new restaurant is an excellent replacement. Not much has changed inside apart from a very smart new floor covering.
New staff and chefs of course and all appear to be very experienced.
Stating the obvious but Nepalese / Indian cooking is quite different to your more common Bangladeshi. You will recognise nearly all the names on the menu however you can't assume the spicing will be the same as you are used to. Don't let this put you off as our dishes were great, although I have just had better sheekh kebabs. Just tell them what you usually have and they will help you with the menu. No problems with the sides, all were as expected and the portions are generous.
The Nepalese are renowned for their friendliness and service and these guys, especially the older gentleman. The only fault with the B C was that the service was often very slow, I am pleased to say that this wasn't evident on our Friday night visit.
It's not the cheapest place around and you can not take your own alcohol but 'you gets what you pays for.' Well worth checking out.

The reviews are true. Lovely place, great service. Food was fantastic, not greasy. Authentic. More than we could eat and very good price. Would recommend and will be going again!
Had a lovely evening dinner at Eight peaks! Loved our host Mukta who looked after us very well. The grills were great🤩 Curries were the star of the show, no grease and light to the stomach with an excellent taste to the palate! Would recommend trying here and you will be back!
