The site is quite large and well laid out. The staff are friendly and welcoming. There is an onsite shop for essentials both food and camping. There are plenty of walks direct from camp and a small dog run on site. There are also bike trails to follow and an activities centre with cafe 1/4 mile from the site. All in all a good site for a quick winter break. I should imagine it's busy in the summer.

Stayed here at the end of winter, really lovely site, well maintained and staff were exceptional. Close to home so it was a quick weekend away. Facilities could do with an upgrade that’s for sure but this didn’t detract from our stay whatsoever. Direct access to conkers from the site and a vast number of walks too, we did a 10k walk on the Saturday and never used the same path twice. Fellow campers were friendly and all said good morning etc. We would use this site again without question.

Nice site, toilets, and shower facilities are very clean and well kept, as you would expect from a caravan and camping club site. The pitches are grass and hard standing. Electricity on each pitch. For motorhomes, the pitches are not so good if you like grey waste and water on your pitch. You do get planes over head from East Midlands airport. It's great for dog walking and ideally situated for visiting the surrounding area and beauty spots.

As a camping site rooms are what you take with you, tent, motorhome, campervan etc. Did not see any camping pods for rental.
Area is former mining area and railway tracks for walks. With short section of Ashby Canal, not connected to canal network for path into Moira a former mining village reinventing itself as a tourist destination.
Tracks are fairly easy to follow for walkers and cyclists, but should not cause issues for mobility scooters.
Site is well maintained with good size pitches, hard standing and grass, which may be restricted after prolonged wet periods. Full services for water, chemical toilet disposal and electric hook ups available. Site toilets and shower available and well maintained.

Lovely small site with great shower block and wash up facilities. Spacious hard standing pitches.
Little shop with sweets etc in reception.
Gated for security
Small park area for kids but nothing much around. However, right next door to Conkers!
Atmosphere was not as relaxed for families, more laid back for adults.
