What a fabulous hotel! The room/suite we had was absolutely beautiful - comfortable and spotlessly clean with an amazing view and private terrace. Everything looked brand new. The bathroom was amazing. The staff were polite and professional. The food was excellent with a great hearty breakfast. I can’t praise this place enough. Well worth the money.

Had great stay here for weekday break. Very happy overall - very clean, room had wow factor. Decor nice. Bathroom was huge - separate stand alone shower and separate bath, toilet and 2 sinks. No window but left extractor fan a lot. Fridge, kettle with coffee/tea, small milk in fridge. The accommodtion is behind the White Horse pub, with uninterrupted views across Derbyshire fields. There are 2 blocks of several apartments. TV had some free apps on it but I couldn't cast our programmes on Now tv to TV (maybe I pressing wrong buttons?) There was wifi but no phone signal. Watched progs on ipad. On sunny afternoon, enjoyed relaxing tea/cakes on great balcony. Small table and some chairs & sofa /sofa chair in room with large comfortable bed. Night light by door was helpful. Felt safe here, though exterior doors were required to be unlokced. Lovely fluffy towels, with a shower&hair toiletries. On the flip side, we had to drive everywhere (some hairy turns and hills). When got opportunity, got milk, toiletries from Matlock supermarket (no corner shop like in surburbia!). For variety we went out to various places for dinner, but we ate dinner in restaurant in pub as didn't want to drive one night.. Breakfast was in the pub (short bracing walk to pub in the mornings!) (think there is room service?). Breakfast was delicious - whether cooked/uncooked. Service was great and accommodating, but a bit awkward for us as we had to ask for everything, which we personally didn't feel comfortable with. But staff were great. Thanks for great stay.

Stayed here for one night, it stood out as the rooms are separate suits with their own space and balcony.
Room was very comfortable, nice firm bed. It’s a really peaceful location, all you hear is the birds.
We ate in the restaurant at night, really nice food. We both had fish dishes and they were cooked to a very high standard.
Breakfast again was very nice and a great end to the trip.
Staff were really friendly throughout our stay, nothing felt too much trouble to ask.

This is a lovely room, set in tranquil and beautiful setting. The family that owned it were lovely and did whatever they could for us. The log fire was fantasic to sit next to as we ate a meal that competed with the 5 star buxton crescent we were at the night before. Breakfast in the morning was equally as good, the chef made me poached, scrambled and fried eggs (my request) all perfect. We felt well looked after and valued as customers. The decor/atmosphere in the pub was the only thing I thought could be improved but nothing that will prevent us from coming back again!

What a fantastic location 👌. We had room 1, a suite, enormous with a wonderful view from the balcony. Food was amazing 👏, and the breakfast 😋. Hosts very, very friendly. Have booked already for next August.
