A nice place to stop off and have lunch and a beer.
The service is excellent and the food was nicely presented and tasty. The local beer is nice and refreshing especially on a hot day. There is not much breeze so this outdoor area can get quite hot but so nice being beside the river. The WC's are upstairs and kept so clean and tidy. There is a WC downstairs for disabled access which was good to see.
Really nice place to stop off and would go there again.

The Bishop on the Bridge is one of those pubs that’s a great visit all year round. In the summer they’ve got a gorgeous riverside terrace where you can soak up some sunshine. In the winter it’s cozy and welcoming, with those classic warming pub dishes.

I recently stopped by for dinner on their terrace, and was very impressed with how good the food was. I had the chicken burger which was very flavoursome, and the chips were amazing. There’s a huge selection of drinks too, so you won’t struggle to find a tipple.

Overall, it’s a great pub and I can certainly recommend a visit if you’re looking for somewhere nice for a drink and a bite to eat in Winchester.

We came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We were a little earlier than most people it seemed! We easily found a seat (lots of tables were reserved, but for lunchtime it seemed). Placed an order and breakfast came - Two full English breakfasts and a stack of American-style pancakes with blueberries. The food was fantastic: the pork sausages were as good as they can get (from Owton's Butchers). The coffee was OK.
The pub was looking in good shape with a theme of Winchester and pubs in the town. The young lady serving us was nice and approachable.
Another couple came in and sat by the open fire, and the young lady serving them added a log to the fire - warmed up the place in more ways than one.

We thought with its prime location that it would be busy on a Thursday lunchtime. We were pleasantly surprised and found a table with ease. You order at the bar and just sit back in cider seat and watch the river and the world go by whilst you wait for your food. The staff were lovely and the food was well presented. After the hustle and bustle of the city centre this was a lovely quiet, peaceful change to enjoy a delicious lunch.

Great pub, very traditional, comfy, and a good choice of drinks - beer was great - food amazing and a really cosy atmosphere. The staff were happy, helpful, and had answers ready about food and beer. You could taste beer before you choose, and the location was away from the main drag, but so close to everything. I really liked it here.
