Lovely relaxed cafe with outdoor seating too to enjoy the sunny weather. Menu has lots of choice for all dietary requirements and dogs very welcome. Food and drinks always excellent and very generous portion sizes. The only downside is having to decide which ONE of the fabulous cakes to have! 😄 There are always so many great options to choose from.

Just wanted to share my experience of this wonderful venue, I have been coming here for around 14 years, and its always been a favourite of mine, from their delicious sandwiches and cakes to their super coffee and excellent table service, It does get very busy in the summer times, and is popular with dog owners and walkers as well as young mums and their children, often on the way home from school. Yesterday I was in need of a light lunch and so took a friend out for a drive in the country and came here, to avoid the city as on an overcast and pretty windy day, the city is not the best place to be. I chose a 'Very Berry ice-cream Milkshake' and a BLT, I know from having breakfast there in the past their tomatoes are super sweet and really juicy, and their bread is fresh and wholesome too. My friend had a health salad bowl and a glass of tap water. As always the staff were helpful and super friendly chatting to everyone that came in and showing them to a table. I cam in at 12:30 expecting it to be rammed but there were a few tables free and we were quickly seated. ÂŁ15 for two of us was very reasonable considering we had a salad and a drink. There were a number of happy looking babes in arms and young mum's out with their parents, so it made a convivial atmosphere, and when we left the Sun finally made an appearance. I keep going back as the food is brilliant, the staff and great and the atmosphere is always friendly. See you there soon.

Visited on a friends recommendation and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Ordered an iced latte, iced americano and babychino for drinks and all were superb! The most difficult part was choosing what cake to order with our coffees. We went with a scone (was perfect) and a brownie both or which were excellent quality. I will 100% recommend and return when in and around the area

Rating: 4.6 (1148) Price Level:

Was visiting with a friend and hopped in for some afternoon tea, the staff were so helpful with advising us about portion sizes and I can say- they were right! One serving of afternoon tea was more than enough between the two of us. The Raspberry Apple scone was delicious and so large we almost couldn’t finish it, and the finger sandwiches were so fresh with classic fillings! We got the Tiny Tim’s House-blend for our tea and loved it. Overall, Cosy Interiors, great food and excellent service:))

Quirky Super place, first time customer and we're be returning next time we are in Canters. Staff were excellent, friendly, professional and the service received was top notch. Teas were really nice, certainly different and there was plenty for two cups. Scones were of a good standard although one totally fell into pieces. Jam and butter were superb. £35 for 2 x teas, 1 x coffee & 3 x scones. Expensive, maybe, but was quality 👍

Lovely place for a classic scone. Their house scone (with blueberry and lime) is delicious (don’t forget the extra clotted cream!). Also nice selection of hot chocolates with fantasy. Beautiful setting.

Rating: 4.3 (199) Price Level:

Have been here before and enjoyed it this time, not quite as good The ordering is easy, and drinks are delivered to your table when ready, disappointingly today these we tepid rather than hot. Nice ideas for three different bruschetta, we chose the mushroom one, and it looked great but again on the cool side. Previously excellent experience, so we have blended the rating

I recently visited Stag and was absolutely blown away by their breakfast options! Not only did they have an incredible variety of dishes, but they also had an impressive selection of drinks to choose from. The quality of the food was exceptional - everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. The atmosphere was also lovely, with friendly staff and a welcoming ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious breakfast in a cozy and inviting setting. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

CaffĂš Nero

P: 01580 763700

Rating: 4.3 (217) Price Level:

Hats off to the completely lovely Barrista who managed to be friendly, ultra helpful in an utterly unpatronising way - I had issues with my phone-made a perfect flat white and seemed unflappable despite appearing to be the only member of staff front of house at 10.50 today. He steadily worked through the queue of customers and seemed as charming and obliging with everyone. What a gem! He truly made my visit here. Oh and the coffee was just fine too.

A nice CaffĂš Nero in the high street, the service was good and so is the food. Comfy seating, especially by the window, we ordered a Latte, Cappuccino and a Black Americano. All drinks for delicious and the Latte came with a design on which was nice to see. Don't always get Latte art sometimes plus we had a Chicken & Pesto Lattice which I recommend. A great place to have a coffee & food!

Always visit this coasta when passing or in the area. So much so that Sam in particular gives fantastic customer service and is a credit to the team. He always remembers me and my drink preferences and always greets me with a smile. The store environment is always pleasant and clean. My only negative is that the toilets could do with an upgrade. Looking quite tired. Thanks to all the team for their hard work. Very much appreciated.

We were desperate for a good coffee and a local suggested this place. Located near the entrance to the cathedral (which was packed with students of all ages on excursions), we nestled into a table and ordered our long awaited our coffee. Looking at the soup a fellow diner was having I was somewhat jealous. Next time! Loved the quirkiness of this place with fun and interesting signage, cute decor and funky ambience. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good location. Lovely staff. We will return.

Sat in a for a late lunch, ordered a gluten free pesto chicken sandwich and an iced oat chai latte. My friend got the grilled cheese with a flat white. Felt as though 15 quid was a bit expensive for my order - until the food was served! The sandwiches are massive and both my friend and I kept half for dinner. We both really enjoyed our meals! The staff were warm and welcoming, the cafe was relatively quiet for a Saturday at 12:45pm. There were a variety of cakes available as well, with a fair amount of gluten free and vegan options available. Staff clarified whether my gluten free sandwich order was due to an allergy or a preference. Overall, would recommend, especially for those with a gluten intolerance!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hoof and Hook in Tenterden, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. We started with the Kentish Mini Tacos, and they were absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and a perfect start to the meal. The blend of local ingredients really shone through in every bite. For the main, I ordered the Hoof Burger with fries, and it was perfection on a plate. The burger was juicy, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection, while the fries were crispy and golden, just the way I like them. We also had the Asian Ribs , which were a delightful surprise—tender, packed with a rich, savoury glaze, and bursting with a perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavours. The combination of incredible food and warm, attentive service made our visit unforgettable. Hoof and Hook is definitely a must-visit if you’re in Tenterden! We will most certainly be back.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Hoof & Hook is Situated in the heart of the historic town of Tenterden in the middle of the High Street in the building that was formerly Café Rouge. It has had a complete makeover, not just in its appearance but also the menu. The food is absolutely excellent, very high quality and beautifully presented. I had a "Hoof Classic" burger with fries and it was was delicious, cooked to perfection and the portion size was spot on. Probably one of the best burgers I have had in years, it consisted of two beef patties, cheese, lettuce, pickles, cheese and bacon all served in a really nice bun (sorry I missed the photo). My mother had the King Prawns (pictures attached), she said that they were probably the best King Prawns she had ever had. The service was outstanding and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the Hoof & Hook. 10 out of 10 guys and keep up the excellent work, looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

This is an update: The meal we just had was beautiful, Staff polite courteous and informed . A real pleasure to eat here! Be prepared for large portions , I didn't. The nacho starter was as good as a main meal and really tasty. I had the bourbon ribs and couldn't even start the second one. Staff were quick, pleasant and attentive . The place was really busy and had a quick turnaround of tables. We weren't rushed in any way but do recommend booking especially at weekends. RECOMMEND.

Stopped in for something brunchy but had missed the breakfast menu. Luckily, you could have an all-day breakfast, which was absolutely delicious! The quality of the bacon and sausages was very good! The staff were very welcoming and the building is beautiful. It is an old building, so be aware that it is uneven floor in places, but I think that is part of the charm! Definitely will come again!

Pretty little pub where we ordered a full English bfast and eggs, both of which were tasty. The place was cozy and old-fashioned. One star removed because the small eats ‘available all day’ we were informed brusquely was not available before 11:30! They need to rewrite some of their stuff. Like the description of rich hot chocolate. We got a pale liquid that looked more watery milk than chocolate. When we asked if there could be more chocolate in it they said, nope only one powder sachet per mug, but we could have more milk if we wanted! 😂
