We had Sunday lunch here yesterday. Food was good, portions great, although Yorkshire puddings were stale. But expensive for what you get and their prices are different on their website to in house, so be aware of that. Kids loved playing the play area, but the swings had been wrapped around the top bar, so couldn’t be used. Wasps were a persistent problem.

A true gem of a traditional English pub! Warm, cosy, and inviting, this spot has become my go-to refuge after a long week. The service is fantastic, and the selection of beers and ales are enough to keep any enthusiast happy—personally, I can’t resist a perfectly poured pint of Guinness.

The food deals on certain days are a bonus, making it easy to treat yourself without breaking the bank. Whether you're looking to unwind with friends or simply savor the charm of a classic pub, this place is well worth a visit. Fridays wouldn’t be the same without it!

We both had sausage and mash. Turned out to be the best meal we had in England!

Went out mid week for the pizza deal. Two pizza’s for £20. Pizza’s were really tasty! Only bad thing about the evening was the weather! We were hoping to sit outside as it is so pretty with the lights. All the bar staff seem very nice and friendly.

I discovered this wonderful pub by chance, on a cold dark night while trying to find an elderly client (I am a domicile carer). I went in to ask directions and received such a wonderful welcome and assistance. Matt the manager immediately linked my mobile phone to their internet and then proceeded to search the address I couldn’t find. He was so kind and obviously was able to direct me to the location I needed. When I returned home my partner said on my next day off we would go for a meal, which we did today!
Again, lovely warm welcome and clever personal touch by reserving our table with my name on a slate on the table. We enjoyed the leek, potato and cauliflower soup of the day and I had the superb sticky and oh so wonderful super tasty chicken wings to start. Terry then had a very generous portion of bangers (3) & mash with seasonal veg and gravy, and I had the minced beef and ale pie with mash, veg and gravy. So very good, we were both so sated that there was no room for pudding but there’s always next time! Extremely good value for money too coming to approx £35 each including drinks.
