Very friendly spot for a snack before touring Canterbury. To this American tourist it felt very welcoming and part of a local neighborhood instead of a too-busy, in-and-out, grab-and-go place you might find in town. Besides, we discovered Mr. Blobby!

We went in for a coffee after roaming around the town the whole day on a cold winter day. Loved the beautiful decor, coffee was really good and we had a brownie which was amazing!! There are lot of quick bite options as well which we would love to try next time we are there ! Really cute place with lovely staff and good looking furniture! You can get some beautiful Instagram pics for your feed! Recommended!

Fringe and Ginge in Canterbury is a must-visit coffee shop that truly stands out. Their flat whites are smooth and velvety, with a perfect balance of espresso strength and creamy milk, while their mochas deliver a rich, chocolatey flavor that blends harmoniously with the coffee’s bold notes. Both drinks are topped with expert latte art, showcasing the baristas’ skill and attention to detail. The selection of bakery items is equally impressive, featuring freshly baked pastries, cakes, and other sweet treats that are hard to resist. Whether you’re in the mood for a buttery croissant or a decadent slice of cake, the quality is always top-notch. The staff contribute significantly to the café’s appeal. They’re super friendly, engaging, and incredibly efficient, managing the steady stream of customers with a smile. It’s easy to see why Fringe and Ginge is a local favorite—the place is often packed, creating a vibrant, bustling atmosphere. The only downside is the limited seating inside, which can fill up quickly, so it might be best to arrive early or grab a takeaway. Adding to its charm, the cafĂ© is dog-friendly, welcoming four-legged companions with open arms. This small touch makes it a wonderful spot for dog owners looking to relax with a quality cup of coffee in a lively, community-oriented setting. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience some of the best coffee and baked goods Canterbury has to offer!

I think I fell in love with this little cozy Coffee shop! The girls who worked there when we came were lovely. The place inside si small but a lot of natural light comes in so you don't really feel suffocated and there are outdoors benches and tiny tables. I took a Chai Latte and my boyfriend took a Long Black. We added a bag of coffee from their little shop, because it was a very interesting blend. The lady asked us if we wanted the beans grounded and then proceeded asking for what purpose was the coffee(to get the best grounding level). I found it very professional. The Chai is made with a mixed powder a little spiced. I usually don't take Chai when it's a powder because it comes out very sweet but this was one of the best Chai Latte I've ever had. So if you are like me, don't worry about taking this one, even if it's in powder!! The spices blended so well with the taste. And my partner was happy with the taste of his coffee too. Extra bonus for the aesthetic

Very nice place with kind and helpful ppl working in it. The food and cakes looks very appetising. The cafelatte cake was moist, creamy and soft. I will definitely come back for the chocolate and orange one đŸ˜đŸ‘ŒđŸŒ The coffee has traditional flavours and barista had served it with creamy, steamed milk. Gluten-free and vegan cakes are available also. There is toilet in the premises. Prices looks reasonable considering that operating a shop must be costly nowadays.

Looks clean and tidy. Fresh hot pasty . Turnovers.Homemade. Range of teas. Good coffee. Does not do fried egg but that's due to not having the facilities. Still lots to choose from Quick service . Very polite . Passionate business owners. Not been open very long. One small step down into cafe Some nice space but compact. Couple of the tables would be awkward to sit on because of a pillar and table in walk way . Quite narrow. Wouldnt fit wheelchair through. Could use front of shop has two tables by windows with more room. Toilet available . Small but clean. Nice handwash and kitchen roll for hand washing. One step up to the toilet area. Wouldnt be able to fit a wheelchair. Dogs are welcome. Breakfast looks nice and seen some happy customers Can do cash or card . Gives receipts by email or paper. Sandwich very nice. Well presented. Bacon cooked well. Bread nice and fluffy. . Scrambled egg tasty! Served with salad crispy and nice dressing  also some coleslaw on the side . Reasonable price and Inexpensive compared to most other local cafes Most places your looking at 7.50 a sandwich . Gluten free and vegan options available. Could have a nicer looking menu and a little more appealing advertising out front. Maybe a menu in the window to show what's available and the great prices. Parking isnt available outside but has some off road parking locally and a car park just down the road. Station road. Would definately go back again :)

The Mooring Cafe & Bar

Water Ln, Canterbury CT1 2NQ, UK | Cafe
P: 01227 464797

Rating: 4.8 (129) Price Level:

Great little cafe and/or bar (your choice) right on the river. In summer, watch moorhens building their nests as you sip your flat white and eat your carrot and courgette cake (SO good!). In winter, cosy up with a plate of steaming crumpets and a coffee or, later, red wine and watch the punts still passing, everyone well wrapped up. What a find. Food is fabulous - totally delicious. Staff cool as cucumbers

Never have I been accosted on the street before with such a positive outcome. Luke approached us in the street, but wasn't pushy, and asked if we wanted to try a river tour. We were interested and took him up on his offer and he gave us a voucher. We wandered down to the Mooring Cafe & Bar , got booked on and to our surprise had Luke as a tour guide. He was fantastic, knowledgeable and full of banter. He tried to engage with everyone on the boat, always making sure everyone enjoyed their experience. After the tour was done, we arrived back again at the Mooring bar to sample some of the delicious cocktails that were designed by Rosie (including the best cocktail I've ever had, The Hive mind). Verity served us and was fantastic, despite being new to the team. Overall, a great experience. Even when the kitchen was closed, they sorted us out with some pitta and hummus to keep our hunger at bay. A worthwhile visit.

This place is well worth the visit. We had a few drinks in the bar whilst we waited for our punting tour. Sebastian was our tour guide, who was full of knowledge about the city and had some good banter to go with it. I would highly recommend the tour, location and the the service of this hidden gem. It's a great way to see Canterbury from the river.

We stumbled across this quaint cafe located off the main high street of tenterden. The inside is small and holds about 8 -10 tables but if the weather is good then there’s some outside space which looks out on the main high street. The cafe had a good varied selection of food and drinks. We opted for the all day breakfast along with chicken gyros and children meals. Price wise, you get a lot for your money. Staff were attentive and polite and food arrived in good time and hot. A very nice place to visit on a lunchtime stop off. A well earnt 5 stars! Definitely one to attend if your passing.

My mum has been to the Brunch & Brew many times before and always spoke very highly of both the food and service. Luckily for me we were passing by and mum said she would treat me to something to eat. What an absolute gem this place is, with it's superb menu and excellent service, all served up with a genuine smile. The breakfast that I chose was excellent, cooked to perfection and the presentation was immaculate, portion size was more than adequate. All in all I am highly impressed with the Brunch & Brew and look forward to visiting again. If you want great quality food and service it has it all, highly recommended. Visited again today and it is still excellent, this is now our go to place if we are looking for a breakfast, perfect every time. This probably the best place to eat in Tenterden in my honest opinion, great value for money. Brunch & Brew is also dog friendly, so it is an ideal place to eat should you have your furry friend with you.

Brunch & Brew has been our favourite breakfast venue since we moved to Tenterden three years ago. Today, we had breakfast in the new venue on the High St and it's just as good as before. The food is as good as ever and the new premises have been done out really nicely. Service, as in the previous venue, is excellent. It's good reading on the menu that, as far as possible, the food is sourced from local providers. It was lovely seeing quite a few people in there early in the day and I hope that means the new location will be a success - it certainly deserves to be.

What a treat this was! Incredible food & drinks selection and even though the particular treat I came for had sold out, the wonderful staff there put something special together for me which was so delicious! Also made my husband another drink on the house as he had mistakenly ordered the wrong thing
no fuss what so ever and even when he insisted on paying for it, they said not to which was so lovely. Really went above and beyond for us and I can not wait to return many more times in the future. For the glorious food and drink, for the stunning layout and display of the restaurant and for the beautiful people working there and making it so warm and welcoming! Thank you very much 😊
