Lovely traditional Indian restaurant tucked amongst local shops on a village road and close by to the Travelodge Alton Fours Hotel. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant was clean and spacious. Starters arrived very quickly and so did meals which were tailored to our palette. The meals were lovely, hot and tasty and everyone in our Hamlets Hike and Trek club enjoy the evening dinner. Thank you to all staff and the manager
Service was exceptional. Very quick and attentive. It was Saturday night, and there was a steady flow of takeaway pick-ups. The menu doesn't stipulate dietary information, but the staff were happy to explain the dishes. I enjoyed a vegetable bhuna, and my partner had a chicken podina (rice, naan, etc.). Unfortunately, no diary free desserts as it's all ice cream. Overall, very good, probably one of the better Indian restaurants I've been to in a while.
Had a lovely early evening meal at The Saffron. Our first visit didn't let us down. Warm welcome and friendly service. Delicious food! Good selection of traditional dishes with some chef specials. Nothing flashy, just good food. Chicken Shatkora and Lamb Motika (forgive the spelling) were both lovely. Looking forward to our next visit..
We have had plenty of great meals at the Saffron. The staff are always friendly and food came out quickly. The food is always of the best quality. If you are looking for an good Indian meal in the area, then I would highly recommend.
Was passing through Alton and suddenly discovered this place. Very tasty, freshly cooked food. Service was good, very friendly.
